Elegant location, very good food, kind and welcoming service... a must go if you are in Chiavari

Magnificent restaurant... the ambiance is beautiful, the food is fresh and extremely delicious, and worth every cent. The lukewarm focaccia with the appetizers was superb. The owner—presumably Marco—exudes incredible friendliness and calm. We received a warm welcome and were able to bring our 5-month-old daughter in her stroller without any comment.

After some research we ended up at **Restaurant Duo**, a cozy and modernly decorated restaurant. We chose to sit outside, where the atmosphere was pleasant and the service very friendly. The waiter clearly did his best to give us a nice culinary evening. We both chose 2 à la carte dishes. As a starter we had the "Pansot in salsa di n..." - ravioli with a creamy fish sauce with oysters, full of flavor and nicely balanced - and the "Tortell riren di tuccu al burro e salvia", Tortellini a classic that was perfectly prepared. Both dishes were delicious! The homemade focaccia that was served with it was truly delicious and made for an excellent start to the evening. With a glass of local red wine, perhaps served a little too warm, but still very tasty, the evening seemed promising. Unfortunately, the main course was a bit disappointing. We both chose the "Galletto arrostito", which unfortunately was a bit too dry and grilled firmly. The sauce failed to surprise us, and the finish with only two tomatoes felt a bit sparse. An extra vegetable or potato garnish would certainly have upgraded the plate a bit more, especially considering the price of 22 euros. The seating comfort outside could also have been better: my chair was directly above a manhole cover with large openings, and the table turned out to be very wobbly. When we solved that with some napkins, I unfortunately unexpectedly sank through the rubber mat on the cover during dinner - almost with my face in the plate. Fortunately, we were able to laugh about it afterwards, but it was a bit inconvenient. In short, we enjoyed friendly service and a delicious starter, but the main course and the outdoor location left something to be desired. With a few minor adjustments, this experience could really be great.

We had a great evening at Duo. It’s a very nice restaurant, with nice staff. They had a good selection of food and gave us nice recommendations. Usually I‘m more of a beer person, but it seemed like they don’t serve beer, just wine (since it wasn’t mentioned in the drinks section of the menu). Nice restaurant with good food, but also more expensive.
