07/06/2025: Absolutely the best pizza in the area.
I am surprised to read negative reviews about the dough, which I found light and tasty.
After the renovation the place is also welcoming.
Excellent prices for the area and discreet service.
If I really have to find a negative aspect I would say the size of the pizza, which is really too small.
For the rest highly recommended
05/06/2025: A Heavenly Experience at Pizzeria Pomodoro e Basilico: Where Pizza is Art and Giuseppe is the Master of Ceremonies!
If you are looking for a corner of earthly paradise where pizza is not simply food, but a true sensory experience that envelops and conquers, then you absolutely must stop by Pizzeria Pomodoro e Basilico. I am not exaggerating when I call it one of the most exciting discoveries of recent times, a place where the passion for Italian culinary tradition blends with the excellence of the ingredients and a cordiality that warms the heart.
From the first moment you cross the threshold, you are greeted by an inebriating scent that promises wonders: it is the aroma of the wood-fired oven that works tirelessly, that of fresh basil, ripe tomato and mozzarella that begins to melt. But the element that transforms a simple dinner into an indelible memory is, without a shadow of a doubt, the owner: Giuseppe.
Pizzas: A Triumph of Taste and Naturalness
Let's talk about the main course right away: pizzas. Oh, pizzas! Forget the industrial versions, tasteless or weighed down by ingredients of dubious origin. Here, each pizza is a masterpiece of balance and flavor, the result of meticulous research and a palpable love for the raw materials.
The dough is a true work of art. You can immediately perceive that behind it there is a long leavening, a wise hydration and, probably, some secrets passed down. The result is a light but tasty base, just the right amount of crunchy on the outside and wonderfully soft on the inside. Extremely digestible, so much so that even after having tasted a whole one (and I assure you that the temptation to have seconds is very strong!), you feel satisfied but not weighed down.
But what elevates these pizzas to a higher level are the ingredients, strictly natural and of the highest quality. The freshness is palpable with every bite. The San Marzano tomato has that sweet and authentic flavor that recalls grandma's homemade preserves; the mozzarella, whether fiordilatte or buffalo mozzarella DOP, is stringy, tasty and releases that delicious milk that marries perfectly with the acidity of the tomato. The vegetables, when present, are crunchy and tasty, clearly seasonal and sourced from carefully selected suppliers. The cold cuts, such as raw ham or sausage, are of artisanal quality and release intense aromas. Even the extra virgin olive oil used raw is of a superior category, capable of enhancing each individual component.
From the classic Margherita, which here reaches peaks of perfection with its fragrant basil, to the more daring and seasonal creations, every pizza is a journey.
It is not just a place to eat a delicious pizza; it is a place to feel welcomed, pampered and where you can rediscover the pleasure of conviviality. If you are in the area, or even if you have to travel a few more kilometers, I strongly urge you to visit the pizzeria Pomodoro e Basilico. You will not regret it. In fact, I am willing to bet that it will become one of your regular stops. As for me, I can't wait to return to taste other delights and to exchange a few more words with the legendary Giuseppe. Promoted with full marks, with honors and an academic kiss! A true hidden gem that deserves to be discovered and appreciated.
