A beautiful location surrounded by nature, but unfortunately we were disappointed with the restaurant. For the prices, we expected better quality... everything was good, but not particularly good. The waiter who served us (the guy in his 30s) wasn't friendly and didn't know how to deal with customers; he was cold and inhospitable, and above all, he was a bit confused about what he was supposed to do/clear the table. Vito, on the other hand, was very kind and friendly (he knows how to treat a customer), but when he wasn't serving us, there was confusion.
In my opinion, "La Strada" isn't worth it. We tried it out of curiosity, but we won't be returning.

Within the Tenute Albano estate, the only dining option is the Don Carmelo restaurant. This might initially seem limited, but it turns out to be a pleasant surprise. The quality is truly high, as is evident in the dishes: generous and rich platters, fresh and carefully selected ingredients, generous portions, and a wide variety of pasta, meat, fish, and appetizers.
During our evening, two live singers performed Albano and Romina's songs with great talent, making the atmosphere even more engaging and enjoyable. This added value made the dinner special.
The prices are quite high, but in line with the quality and overall experience the restaurant offers. Definitely recommended for those staying at the estate and looking to enjoy a refined dinner in a charming setting.

Finally, after many years, we were able to visit Albano Carisi's estate and were amazed by how much Albano takes care of his land! Strolling through the garden, we met him on his way to check on some work. He was friendly, and I had my photo taken with him. We ate deliciously, and the prices are truly fair! After greeting the customers in the restaurant, Albano left happy to see that everything was going well. He's proud of his land, his origins, and his work. Thank you!

A fabulous restaurant, with excellent food, often locally sourced.
The service, I would say, is efficient, friendly, and fast.
A magical, simple place, allowing you to breathe in the authentic air of Salento, surrounded by nature and local materials like Lecce stone and olive trees, an incredible peace.
I've been there several times and will definitely return.

We spent a day by the pool and had lunch at the Don Carmelo restaurant. We ordered two first courses, a seafood salad, cod and fried artichokes, a fried fish platter, and a bottle of house rosé. Everything was excellent, high-quality food thanks to the culinary expertise of Chef Annamaria. Excellent value for money. Recommended.

It deserves ten stars. A few simple dishes, carefully prepared, generous, and incredibly flavorful. The staff is extremely kind, helpful, and always smiling. Kudos to Vincenzo, who I think is
the youngest, for their work, and to the teacher who should be the dining room manager. A sincere thank you for making us feel at home.

My fiancé and I went for dinner last night and were simply amazed by the kindness and skill of Mr. Vito, who served us with reverence and respect, no matter what our needs. The food was spectacular and very generous.
The atmosphere was peaceful and elegant, surrounded by sweet and unobtrusive cats.
Highly recommended; we will definitely be back.

Ultimo giorno di una bella vacanza nel Salento con moglie. Da Lecce decido di fare una escursione nella vicina Cellino S. Marco, e visitare di conseguenza le tenute Carrisi (spettacolare location) A pranzo da Don Carmelo, il ristorante intitolato al papà di Albano. Non avevo grandi aspettative ma devo riconoscere che ho avuto la sorpresa di scoprire un ristorante gourmet, con qualcosa in più: la genuinità delle materie prime e le porzioni non microscopiche. Il servizio di sala eccellente, con l’ottimo Vito che ci ha fatto da Cicerone nella visita del locale e poi ben consigliato nella scelta dei piatti: baccalà fritto con cuori di carciofi e polpettine al sugo per antipasto. Maritato alla salentina e soprattutto il tortellaccio al nero di seppia, cuore di pescespada con datterino giallo, davvero sublime. Il tutto è stato accompagnato da un bianco che per fortuna poco prima avevamo provveduto ad acquistare in enoteca: Il “Don Carmelo” chardonnay 100% fresco al palato e con caratteristici odori fruttati. La migliore sorpresa gastronomica di questa vacanza pugliese+++++
