Very elegant place. More like a classy restaurant than a tavern. The food was good and the prices were still affordable. Excellent choice of wines.

A casa De Giorgio

12/03/2025: I came back after many years. The environment has not changed and neither has the steadfast Giorgio. It's a warm place, where you can happily spend some time. The matter of the "told" menu is a characteristic of the restaurant. However, the customer should certainly be given the opportunity to evaluate the cost without having to go out to see the menu stuck on the window. But anyway... The snails, the pride of the house, really have something extra. A super dish that I would also propose as a second course (so you can taste it again, truly delicious, I would go just for those). The dishes of the evening were (also) relevant to the season of Lent, so we had the bigoi in sauce. A classic. Like cacio e pepe in Rome. Unfortunately, on this occasion, disappointing. Certainly to be blamed on the chef. The sauce has no flavor but plenty of mix (with flour). Next time I'll have them done again and I want to hear the real ones... Second, the herring with polenta. The fish is very delicate. It may not be what one expects (not very salty) but it makes sense and denotes a certain class. The pear and ice cream dessert was delicious, except that the pears didn't add the touch they should have (in this case the problem was the raw material). White wine served at will (locally produced) and also a good glass of red (I didn't ask what wine it was, probably Tuscan). In summary, everything was fine (including the bill, in line with what was eaten) except for the bigoi, for which I plan to return (in the meantime hopefully the chef has come to his senses...).
11/03/2025: Spent an evening in company on the first day of Lent...menu presented verbally by the owner...I don't think it's right because I prefer a la carte...at least you know what you're spending...renga not tasty or not very tasty anyway...bigoi in sauce nothing special....good bottle of wine but always ordered verbally...while I prefer a la carte...always to know in advance how much I'm spending...guess the final bill...two people spent more than 100 euros...in short one disgusting... a steal for what we ate... I won't go back for sure
