Last night we dined at Diego's, and the experience deserves more than a simple note of appreciation.
A necessary preface: I suffer from shellfish allergies, a condition that often turns a seafood dinner into an exercise in sacrifice rather than choice. Here, attentiveness, courtesy, and professionalism are the order of the day: dishes are adapted to the moment, without shortcuts, a clear sign of fresh ingredients and a skilled craftsman who knows how to craft them with confidence.
One gesture in particular speaks to the place's style: in order to let me try the fusilloni with clams, grouper, and zucchini flowers, topped with shellfish chosen by my companion, a special version was prepared, free of any contaminants. An unsolicited attention, and for that very reason, doubly appreciated.
My monkfish, grouper, clam, and potato stew was simply impeccable: balanced, just the right amount of flavor, the kind that doesn't seek special effects because it doesn't need them.
Service: smiling, welcoming, attentive, and never intrusive.
In short: naturalness, the increasingly rare art of authentic hospitality—with a touch of graceful elegance that, these days, is almost as important as the menu.
Thanks, Diego. I'm writing this here because I wasn't able to do it in person yesterday.

A small and charming restaurant, it offers excellent fish and vegetarian cuisine and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, informal but also upscale (and trendy). The service is professional, dynamic and in line with the overall polite atmosphere. I wouldn't add anything else, except that the chairs inside are uncomfortable (sorry).

The highest-quality organic products, catch of the day, and top-quality vegetables expertly combined to create true culinary masterpieces. Delivery is also available for those who stay at work or don't have time to cook, but the best is enjoyed at the restaurant in the splendid setting of Piazzetta Ascensione in Chiaia.
Prices are in line with the quality, and the courtesy and professionalism are second to none. I highly recommend it. 🔝👍🦐🐟
And I'll gladly return because I can't stay away. 💪👍😘

Excellent food, a menu with a few select items (luckily so) and prices that aren't cheap (especially for Naples). The quality is extremely high. The location is in a typical Neapolitan square, with a few tables in a gazebo. A simple place, but high quality.

Insanely good fish. We tried all the dishes in the menu and they were all spectacular.
Diego, the owner-chef, is a genius.
I seriously doubt you have ever eaten fish as good as Diego’s. It’s that good and I am not overselling it.

A Naples guide recommended Diego's in Piazzetta Ascensione in the Chiaia neighborhood, where we're staying.
The guide recommended it, and I have to say he was right: run by friendly and enthusiastic young people, they let us eat on the outdoor terrace right in the square. Fresh food—we were told the menu changes daily depending on the catch—excellent plating and top-quality, with unique desserts. Definitely a place to try.
