Our first holiday to Italy - first to Lake Garda, first to Desenzano- definitely won't be the last - we loved it ! Our new favourite place.
We thought Italy would have been expensive but compared to the UK it was cheaper - roughly between 8-12euros for pizzas/ pasta , and between 4-7 euros for wine /beer/ aperols.
Loved Desenzano as a base - we visited Venice for the day which was 24euros each return on the train.
Also visited Sirmione on the ferry which was 6 euros each return , and it is stunning.
Pescheira was nice too - very pretty.
Would highly recommend!
