I attended the Daruma Masterclass held by David and the talented Chef Randy last May 27th. It was really interesting to learn the whole history of the sushi tradition and then put it into practice under the supervision of highly qualified and competent staff. Excellent food quality, very kind staff always ready to accommodate customer requests. The time flew by and it was a lot of fun to share the experience with the other participants. Absolutely worth trying, and why not even repeating to refine your technique!!!

This place was amazing! The food was incredible, and we even got offered the sushi of the day, which was also amazing! Everyone was so kind and friendly, even though we cannot speak much Italian! A definite go to if you are in the area, for a great price too!

I ordered takeout a while ago. I brought the box home by public transport and it remained intact. The quality of the food is excellent. I chose various types of uramaki and hosomaki. Uramaki with peppers is delicious both for the contrast of flavors and for its originality. The staff is pleasant and smiling.

I'm telling you about my experience during the Daruma Masterclass which was given to me by my partner. David followed us throughout the journey: 3 hours of journey through Japanese cuisine with a little theory at the beginning and a lot of practice afterwards together with chef Randy. At the end they also give you a little book where you can then redo everything that is said during the lesson at home, thanks to the simple text and photos that show everything in a clear and easy to understand way. Thanks again to David for his kindness, for his impeccable professionalism and for immersing us in this world. I also thank all the rest of his staff who welcomed us and treated us in an exemplary manner for the entire duration of the masterclass. Highly recommended as a couple's gift!

Attracted by the new vegan proposals (but not only), we decided to have dinner here. The place is small, but very nice, near the Milvio bridge. It doesn't offer an all-you-can-eat formula, and the menu is less extensive than the classic sushi places, but quality is certainly prioritized over quantity. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with a small welcome (roll with tuna, avocado and truffle). We tried the three vegan rolls, some fish rolls and the udon rolls. Vegan rolls are very tasty, especially the smoked tofu ones. Among the fish rolls, we took the spicy salmon (I wasn't crazy about it, I think we should add some vegetables) and the tropical vibe roll, which I highly recommend. The fish is very good and the rice is delicate and light (not the classic sticky and indigestible rice of some all you can eat). Possible to choose Japanese beers and teas. Average prices. Very kind and always available staff.

09/07/2024: A nice atmosphere and great food with the perfect amount of ingredients. Outstanding and presentation was immaculate. Would definitely recommend going out of your way to visit.

Sakana Sushi

21/07/2024: I see the effort and the concept, but for me the execution was lacking. The rice was overcooked to the point of being mushy and caked together, and the freshness of the fish was questionable. I ordered the carpaccio tatake, aburi sushi daily specials, and from the main menu the agedashi tofu and chirashi don. I always order chirashi because it is deceptively simple: it's sashimi on a bed of rice. You can't hide behind fancy rolls with drizzled sauces, but it's an opportunity to flex the freshness of your product and creativity of the chef. It looked ok when it arrived but was confusingly served with the dense rice packed into the bowl, topped with the fillings used for spicy tuna rolls and crab mayo rolls, oxidizing avocado, and a few nice sashimi splices. The carpaccio needed to be delicate but it was roughly cut, and swimming in sweet dashi. I wonder if the lack of air conditioning had something to do with these issues, because in contrast, the cooked items - the agedashi tofu and the blow-torched aburi sushi - were good though. Also considering the overall price placed it in comparison with higher-end sushi restaurants and it just didn't match up well in the overall quality.
