It is in the Ligurian hinterland between Imperia and Albenga. We went there for lunch recommended by a friend. He had already warned us that the dishes were abundant. They recommend the appetizers and then "if you're still hungry" the first or second courses. As recommended we took the appetizers, we stopped at those! More than abundant and varied. I also saw the first courses pass by and the second courses even the really abundant ones. We will be back for the other courses. The staff were very kind and quick, the place is small, we made a reservation and thank goodness! After a while it was completely full, and I believe it, the food is really good, not sophisticated cuisine but simple, truly excellent! Everything at a family level, but you are looked after and pampered. Excellent quality and price. I recommend it if you happen to pass by there. We will definitely be back.

A familiar place feels like home. Careful home cooking, simple and genuine ingredients. The only note is that you don't have to rush. Kind and courteous, I recommend them.

The choice is difficult, starting from the appetizers, to the many first, second and dessert courses. All homemade.

Excellent restaurant to enjoy the Ligurian culinary tradition.
We were shocked to discover that on public holidays they serve a giant fixed price menu.
We weren't prepared to spend 4 hours at the table.
It would be appropriate to highlight this pleasant feature better

I've been to Maria twice, years apart: once for Christmas and the other for Boxing Day. On both occasions the cuisine was super excellent. And abundant is an understatement, considering the impressive number of starters that will make you lose count! The environment is familiar, the staff are very kind and make you feel immediately at home, even though the place is always full and with many tables to serve.
I highly recommend arriving on an empty stomach for several hours, otherwise it is impossible to get to the bottom of the menu! If you really wanted to find a small "flaw" (if you can call it that), it's that you spend too many hours at the table, but this is part of Italian culture and is a question of personal taste and needs.
In any case, highly recommended! I will definitely go back.

In this restaurant, like the town that hosts it, it seems that time has stopped. Tradition, quality of food, variety, abundance and courtesy are the precious values that this family of restaurateurs has preserved and handed down for generations, resisting the spread and promotion of junk food multinationals, soulless restaurants or, even worse, the proliferation of sushi. We are the number 1 homeland of good food and wine in the world. Honor to Maria where I found the time when my grandmother, mother and sisters prepared epic banquets.

Senza dubbio il miglior ristorante della Liguria dove mangiare piatti tipici tradizionali. Menù degustazione a 40€ che comprende 10 antipasti, primo, secondo, dolce, acqua, vino, caffè. Rapporto qualità/prezzo (e quantità) assolutamente straordinario.
