19/01/2026: Unfortunately, it was a disappointing dinner. Perhaps I had high expectations given the restaurant's long history, but I have to say that everything was mediocre, from the artichoke (very soft and flaccid for Jewish-style), to the first course (completely disjointed), and finally the desserts (almost raw dough). The service was fast and inattentive. I hope it was a bad night for them, but I don't recommend it because compared to a few years ago, everything has gone down significantly.
18/01/2026: (Almost) selfless honesty
10 for creative marketing! I stop in the shop next door and the owner, with touching honesty, says to me: "Look, you eat well everywhere around here, but at Nonna Betta it's truly kosher, I guarantee it." Then I go in, eat, go to the cashier, and... find the same guy asking me for the bill. Absolute genius! But he was right: despite the frenzy of people and the hustle and bustle that felt like Termini Station at rush hour, the staff was impeccable. Special praise to Samir: we subjected him to an FBI-worthy third degree examination of desserts, and he didn't bat an eyelid. Amazing fried brains (finally!), textbook scalloped lamb, and cod that talks. Truly well done: managing that crowd with that professionalism is not for everyone. If you want the real Rome (and an omnipresent owner), go there!
