The food was great, both typical dishes such as Saltimbocca, but also pizza. The service was a bit lacking. The waiter forgot a few things and did show much care for the guests

Excellent cuisine, friendly and welcoming service: even though we arrived near closing time, they seated us and served us with great warmth. The traditional dishes were truly excellent, as if homemade by grandma with so much love! A real gem.

Absolute gem in Rome! The staff were incredibly kind, attentive and hospitable. Had a tiramisu which was out of this world. Quick service and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend :)

Excellent traditional restaurant in the most touristy area of Rome!
I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews about this restaurant. I understand it's due to a lack of understanding of Roman cuisine.
I had a wonderful experience, and everything I ate was recommended by the incredibly kind waiter.
Everything was delicious.
Excellent quality and fresh ingredients.
I stumbled upon it by chance; I hadn't even heard of it and, of course, I had my doubts.
A marvelous dining experience!
(And I'm quite critical in general—I'm a chef…)

I go to Gildo's often because the food is excellent. I love the rigatoni with oxtail sauce, the baked Roman-style gnocchi, which are also delicious, and the classic Roman dishes.
Since the new pizza chef arrived, the smell is incredible.
Highly recommended!!!!!

I came with my family and had a wonderful meal. The cacio e pepe and carbonara are among the best in Trastevere. The pizzas are cooked in a wood-fired oven, using organic flours and topped with a generous amount of ingredients. Homemade bread and homemade desserts. Friendly and professional service.

Excellent, historic Roman trattoria. The super-smart and friendly waitress with her super-short haircut is family-run, two generations old, starting with grandmother. The wood-fired pizza is also excellent, and the price/quality ratio is excellent.

I had a wonderful meal; the Roman-style and Jewish-style artichokes were excellent. The first courses were plentiful and made with quality ingredients. Family-run, all three brothers are incredibly friendly and attentive to their customers, always ready to accommodate every need. It's a good thing places like this still exist, and not the usual tourist traps. Highly recommended.

Food was too slow. We had to wait over 45 minutes for pizzas only. The pizzas were good though.
