Da Gildo In Roma

The pasta was good and the terrace is very pleasant!

Very good. Fresh and authentic, we had broad beans with pecorino cheese and an artichoke salad. The pasta was also very good. The lively street scene adds to the authentic atmosphere.

I highly recommend it. If you want to experience Italian atmosphere, simple decor, Italian flavors, and pleasantly slow service, this is the place to go. For appetizers, there were three bruschettas, the best with a spicy sauce. Rigatoni alla carbonara was also very good. Rigatoni with beef sauce was less good. But the Roman tripe blew me away. An amazing combination of veal tripe with tomato sauce and Parmesan cheese. The perfect complement was the house Italian wine.

A friendly restaurant with a homey atmosphere. The panna cotta is excellent! The artichoke dish is excellent. We went there several times during our visits to Rome and highly recommend it.

Three days of Roman holidays. First evening looking for a restaurant in Trastevere we landed on this little restaurant, and what can I say? We felt we were in the right place. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the cuisine was top-notch Roman, with generous portions. We also tried the pizzas, which were superb, and the desserts. In short, three days in Rome, three dinners. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. AVERAGE PRICES.

We had the most wonderful experience at Ristorante da Gildo in Trastevere. I still find myself thinking about the food days later – everything we tried was absolutely outstanding, and the coda alla vaccinara I had as a main course was simply unforgettable. For me, it was by far the best restaurant experience I had in Rome. What I also really appreciated is how authentic the place feels – genuinely Roman, without ever feeling touristy. The atmosphere is just as special: set on a beautiful, lively street in Trastevere, with a warm, inviting ambiance and a very tasteful interior that makes you feel at ease immediately. What truly made the evening exceptional, was the team. The staff are incredibly kind, attentive, and offer a level of service that feels both professional and genuinely warm – a rare combination. A place full of charm, quality, and heart. I would return anytime.

The best meal we had in Rome! Da Gildo was recomended by our host and wish we had found the restaurant on our first night! Food was fantastic, wine was great service was wonderful, the staff were friendly and happy. The perfect environment! We will visit next time we are back in Rome!

Really nice place and food in Trastevere.

Amazing food, service and atmosphere were perfect. We spent so long stressed trying to find the perfect restaurants in Rome and stumbled on this spot. Everything was perfect in a city where it’s very hard to find what you’re looking for.
