Good food but a bit over priced and over hyped. Waited in line for 30 minutes, and you can get pretty much the same things they had on their menu of equal or better quality for cheaper at other Trattoria’s close by.

You wait 40 minutes in line, yes. But then you understand. Because that carbonara isn't pasta, it's religion.
The waiters don't have time to suck up to you, and I like that. There's no posturing here: there's flavor, there's history, and there are tables packed together as if we were at Christmas with the in-laws.
The wine goes down easy, the tiramisu makes you rethink life, and when you're done, you think: "I'll come back tomorrow."
And then you come back.
Because there are many trattorias in Rome, but only one, Enzo al 29.

It is highly recommended, we waited about 50 minutes for a table and in the end I ordered a dish that they did not want to prepare because they were about to close the kitchen, it is understandable to a certain point, but in the waiting line they skipped us because we were 5 people and they passed those who were 2 by 2, since there was no more time due to the kitchen closing I think they should have given us the appropriate priority according to the order of the line, that would have saved us about 20 minutes of waiting

Without a doubt the best carbonara in Rome. Creamy, tasty, and the way they make guanciale, no one else! Friendly, super nice and very helpful staff. I had wanted to go back for a long time and without a doubt I will go back again next time I come to Rome. EXCEPTIONAL

The food was good! We got the burrata and Amatriciana pasta. We waited in line for about an hour (i don’t know if the wait was really worth it) but they bring you drinks in line. I love the area!! The owner was also very nice and gave great service!

Da Enzo was the very first stop of our food tour Eating with Europe guided by our amazing guide Valentina.
What a quaint and of the beaten path little Trattoria. We had a glass of Proseco and baked artichoke. If you would have told me that I'd eat a grilled artichoke all by itself, I would have told you that you were crazy! Absolutely delicious served with their very own made olive oil and fresh bread.
Check out this gem, but sadly you'll have to stand in line ca 1 hr before opening. Da Enzo is a very small family run restaurant with limited seating.

You're 20 years old, you're going on a trip with your boyfriend, the memories are wonderful, the kisses incredible, but like everything in life, it ends... 7 years later, you meet again, and because of life's twists and turns, you kiss him again. The kisses are still incredible, yes, but you've matured, you've tried other people, and you see that your memory is still wonderful... But it's not exactly the memory you had, even so, it's still one of the best things you've found along the way.
This is what happened to me yesterday with the carbonara. I tried it 7 years ago, incredible, the best carbonara of my life. I remembered it as unique, unrepeatable, and I said I would return to Rome just to eat it again.
Well, yesterday was that day:
It was still incredible, but the fact that it's become such a popular dish means it's had many competitors.
To this day, it would be one of the best carbonaras I've ever eaten, but for my taste, it was missing "something" that I did find the last time I came. (A little more creaminess, a little more yellowness, a little more pepper...)
Even so, it's still a 5-star dish, and I would wait 45 minutes in line again to try it.
I would highlight the tiramisu.

Servizio rapido e cordiale. Costo nella media.
