Da Carlos in Trevi In Roma

We went to visit the Trevi Fountain at midday and afterwards wanted to have lunch, so we started walking around looking for a restaurant and came across this one. The service was good, actually, the staff were quite friendly. The atmosphere wasn't the best, and the decor wasn't particularly nice, but it did the job. For our main course, we ordered bread with tomato, which was decent. For our main course, we ordered lasagna, which was quite bland. We also ordered pasta with pesto, which was more oil than pasta. The fettuccine, however, was quite good. I don't want to say the restaurant was terrible, but I wouldn't go back and would choose one with better reviews.

I stayed in Rome as a father daughter trip at 16 last September for 4 nights, on the first night I decided to come here and order a lasagne, WHICH WAS AMAZING!! I am a big lasagne lover and it was completely just a 10/10. My dad and I also ordered a tomato and mozzarella bruschetta each too for a starter and all I can say that it is the best starter I’ve ever had at any restaurant!!! It was so good that on the last night we came back too just for that lovely bruschetta it was so fresh the tomato was so juicy and delicious the mozzarella you could just taste it was so fresh too. The staff were so lovely and the service was really great. Will definitely come back to this lovely place. Thank you very much!

Yesterday we had lunch at this nice place, the carbonara was good and the portion was generous, plus my sister had the lasagna alla bolognese which was good too, the gentleman who served us was very kind, thank you.

Great little lunch place near the Trevi. Cosy outdoor space and well priced mains cooked well and decent size. Hard to see why this has bad reviews tbh. Service is included on bill.

Trattoria located in Rome's historic center, 50 meters from the Trevi Fountain. A Roman trattoria, but for tourists who aren't particularly connoisseurs of fresh, authentic food. The atmosphere is pleasant, the staff are typically Roman, and that's the highlight. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating; at our suggestion, we sat inside. We ordered an Italian appetizer (olives, salami (both regular and spicy), prosciutto, and buschetta) and two dishes of pasta alla matricina and carbonara. What can I say: the cured meats tasted like the ones sold in original packaging at supermarkets, and the pasta sauce was only adequate, despite the portions being generous. Let's not say anything special; I repeat, it's a trattoria for tourists, but not for food connoisseurs, although the setting (the Trevi Fountain) suggests so. As for the price, it was definitely a hefty bill, around €68 for two pasta dishes, an appetizer, and two coffees. Listen, listen, I paid €3.50 each for coffee served at the table (perhaps it doesn't even cost that much in Venice). Conclusion: I wouldn't recommend this trattoria.

I got the sliced beef steak and it was really delicious, one group member got the t-bone medium rare and they said it was good with the cook not being distributed too evenly (some parts were redder than others), another member got the fish plate and it wasn't how it looked on the picture and had a pretty fishy flavor but they said was still relatively good, another member got the fried cod and said it was very good and a good thing batter, we got the bruchetta for the table and it was very very good, we also got some eggplant and other vegetables for the table and it was very good, some people said its been the best eggplant they've had and I agree with the steak but not in my life only for my time in italy. We are American so the language barrier was a little rough but they were kind they did mention the tip at the end, the ending price was 263 euros. We got in at 3 o'clock and we were the only ones "in" the restaurant I'm not sure about the outside.

I was very intimidated by the reviews. Of course I looked at them after I sat down 🙄. I would probably agree that it's a tourist trap, but my experience wasn't too bad. I got the gnocchi sorrentina and it was good! It wasn't the best I've had in Roma but definitely not 1 star worthy. I would agree the service is a little aggressive. But it is not as bad as it apparently used to be!
