Da Carlos in Trevi In Roma

Trattoria located in Rome's historic center, 50 meters from the Trevi Fountain. A Roman trattoria, but for tourists who aren't particularly connoisseurs of fresh, authentic food. The atmosphere is pleasant, the staff are typically Roman, and that's the highlight. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating; at our suggestion, we sat inside. We ordered an Italian appetizer (olives, salami (both regular and spicy), prosciutto, and buschetta) and two dishes of pasta alla matricina and carbonara. What can I say: the cured meats tasted like the ones sold in original packaging at supermarkets, and the pasta sauce was only adequate, despite the portions being generous. Let's not say anything special; I repeat, it's a trattoria for tourists, but not for food connoisseurs, although the setting (the Trevi Fountain) suggests so. As for the price, it was definitely a hefty bill, around €68 for two pasta dishes, an appetizer, and two coffees. Listen, listen, I paid €3.50 each for coffee served at the table (perhaps it doesn't even cost that much in Venice). Conclusion: I wouldn't recommend this trattoria.

I got the sliced beef steak and it was really delicious, one group member got the t-bone medium rare and they said it was good with the cook not being distributed too evenly (some parts were redder than others), another member got the fish plate and it wasn't how it looked on the picture and had a pretty fishy flavor but they said was still relatively good, another member got the fried cod and said it was very good and a good thing batter, we got the bruchetta for the table and it was very very good, we also got some eggplant and other vegetables for the table and it was very good, some people said its been the best eggplant they've had and I agree with the steak but not in my life only for my time in italy. We are American so the language barrier was a little rough but they were kind they did mention the tip at the end, the ending price was 263 euros. We got in at 3 o'clock and we were the only ones "in" the restaurant I'm not sure about the outside.

I was very intimidated by the reviews. Of course I looked at them after I sat down 🙄. I would probably agree that it's a tourist trap, but my experience wasn't too bad. I got the gnocchi sorrentina and it was good! It wasn't the best I've had in Roma but definitely not 1 star worthy. I would agree the service is a little aggressive. But it is not as bad as it apparently used to be!

I forgot my jacket and the waiter came after to me to give it back!

The service and seating were very fast, and the orders were not delayed in coming out. The waiter was very helpful and fast. Our orders were a delicious vegetable soup, a green salad, and a mixed grilled seafood dish. It was okay, but the price was very expensive.

A great experience here. We had three spaghetti carbonaras, which were very good. The service was very friendly and attentive.

Great atmosphere, one of the waiters was very charismatic, the carbonara was a 10 point treat as was the cheesecake.

A place with standard food and standard service. The prices for basic items are average. We ordered suppli, which were decent, but the fried food itself was poor quality. The pizza was okay but nothing special. The tables were too close together, so it felt like we were eating next to the people at the next table. Tips are given in cash, and they are a bit pushy about asking for them. It's not terrible, but I wouldn't go back.

Two of us ate there today, were seated immediately and given the menu. The food came very quickly and was delicious and exactly as requested. The servers were very friendly, though not always entirely attentive. Anyone who thinks you can get everything super cheap in a tourist spot like this is probably wrong in any big city. They added a service charge and said you could tip if you wanted, which we were happy to do. Good luck!

The atmosphere was quiet. We dined inside, and the staff were attentive. We heard some people complaining. Maybe we were lucky, but we found the service quick and top-quality. The price was reasonable: two starters, a water and a 33cl Coke, came to €38. The starters were very good and a decent portion! We'll be back!
