Chiosco Bar San Costanzo In Massa lubrense

We stumbled across this fantastic little family run farm business and we are so happy we did, charming, friendly and witty people who make delicious food in a beautiful setting 😍

Here's the reality on Chiosco Bar: Enrico, the owner, and his family, has built an evolving life for themselves by capitalizing on their location at the intersection of two roads that lead to popular hiking locations. No one forces anyone to stop, buy anything, drink anything, or eat anything. These are all choices that people make. If you feel badly afterwards because you made what you feel is a bad choice, don't blame Enrico. Now for an honest review: this is a great place for authentic Italian food that uses fresh ingredients, locally sourced, and prepared on site. The lemoncello and melon spritzes are delicious. Antipasti includes prosciutto, salami with provolone, and caprese with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil with salt and olive oil. They also have eggplant, zucchini, and fresh olives. The lemon pasta is perfectly made and was the favorite pasta choice for our group. Overall, this is a great little roadside bar with authentic Italian food. If you don't feel comfortable with their "marketing tactics", by all means, don't stop. But if you do stop, I don't think you will regret it.

After reading the reviews, thought ill leave my own experience here aswell Our destination was punta campanella, and we stopped in Termini. We were also stopped by a scooter man, telling us there is a better parking, and shorter way down for our destination. Our family was hesitant, its a good 1h hike, thanks for the suggestion, but no. After the hike there and back in the summer time, we were dead. I came initially for 2x 2l water, and was asked if I want to try their lemon sorbet, made by them. It was magnificent Then after retrieving my family, we went there for 4 lemon sorbet and a lemon cake. Once again, their stuff was amazing. I had to pay 20€, 4€ for one sorbet, acceptable price if you ask me. However, if you pay with card, be cautious to not be deducted twice. Initially I paid 22€ with tip, and it seemed the transfer was incorrect, so the man ran my card once again which was successful. After checking my account 5 min later, I saw it was deducted 2x. I went back, and they reverted the second payment without any hassle. I guess this is something some would trick, you have to make a living. But if you are attentive, this shouldn't happen. I can understand it, that if I would catch this at my accommodation, I wouldn't give the stars I gave now, but their drink and food are amazing especially thay they are a small family business. Would definitely come back for a sorbet if im back in Termini, just with the caution of either paying with cash. And never afraid to ask for prices in advance, they told us homemade meals are 6-7€

We wanted to go to punta campanella even tho it was ready afternoon (early March). The guy on the street started talking to us and adviced to rather to go the mountain for a view and sunset which truly was a better choice :) on the way back we stopped by and tried his products - Limoncello, Meloncello (wow!!!) and Pistachio liquor, and also the cheese. We also bought a bottle and a cheese. We had a really good talk with them and a good time, also I encouraged some other passing tourists to stop by and try because i truly think it was great products and an authentic experience and very welcoming people. I would recommend to stop by and try the products and have a conversation with them! If you are the sort of people that is constantly scared to be scammed, you are attracting it and you will experience it here as well. For me and us it was a beautiful and respectful interaction :)

We loved this place and support local business other that comment tourist trap should consider how much it takes to run small business. Familly very kind I didn’t felt push in anything buying but will definitely come back for some mozzarella to take home . We had 2 big plates of tomato salad with fresh mozzarella 4x coffees 2x juice 1x lemonade 2x pastries shot of pistachio limoncello paid €42, I think it’s very reasonable ahh and we had nice fresh bread too!

We stopped for a toilet in Termini and were surprised and enchanted by the owners of this shop and we were treated to amazing Lemon pastry.
