Chiantineria In Arezzo

Ordered for lunch at the well-stocked counter, a nice platter to eat at the tables outside. Fresh food, good experience, ideal for a quick but pleasant lunch, enjoying the atmosphere of the historic center.

Next to the Piazza Grande in Arezzo, we came across this restaurant that made a great impression on me. The first thing, and positive for the Spanish, is that they feed you until late in the afternoon and that is appreciated. There are exquisite charcuterie and cheese boards, well presented. Good assortment of seconds. We ordered Pici al ragut and it was exquisite, but I saw lasagna and roast beef that looked excellent. They have a good wine list and the service was downright pleasant. Being in the most touristy area and with a very typical atmosphere, the price is higher, but it is acceptable. It is a site to take into account.

We came to eat here over the Christmas holidays and had a really good time. The food was very good (I love truffles) as was the dessert. My friend who wanted to eat Tuscan food was fully satisfied. The place is very nice and furnished in a particular way.

Davvero carino questo locale-gastronomia dove degustare un pasto frugale ma saporito. Ottimi i salumi, finocchiona in primis, molto buoni anche i pecorini . Peccato che non abbia posti a sedere all’interno.

It was a wine tour. They had some cool statues and art. Wine is wine. We weren’t impressed. Venice has better wine.

La Chiantineria offers an overall good gastronomic experience, but with room for improvement. The stracotto is certainly the strong point of the menu: tasty, tender and well cooked. The truffle cantuccio was also a pleasant surprise, an interesting and original mix. The appetizer with the platter, however, was not entirely convincing: slightly small portions and combinations that did not shine with originality. The service, unfortunately, was the real weak point. The waiters were not very attentive and at times distracted, leaving the impression of a hasty and careless welcome. Overall, a decent experience, but with some aspects to improve to make everything more pleasant. 3 stars.

La posizione è probabilmente la migliore possibile. Il locale si presenta quasi confusionario per la quantità di cose appese, esposte, visibili: poi ci si fa un po' l'occhio ed il tutto risulta piacevole. Viene proposto un menù tipicamente toscano, con poco o niente di concessione ad alternative (e va benissimo così). Abbiamo mangiato due primi - pici all'aglione e lasagne - ed erano buoni, poco da dire. Abbiamo apprezzato anche il servizio assai rapido, nonostante il locale fosse quasi pieno. Prezzi onesti, nonostante la posizione privilegiata non c'è scarto rispetto ad altri locali simili. Forse quest'ultima è la pecca, l'uniformità: bellino, proposte locali e via dicendo però manca quel "di più" che lo fa ricordare come un ristorante dove tornare a mangiare.
