I'm writing this review while I'm still here. It was a wonderful experience, from the food to the venue, and the icing on the cake, the kindness of the staff.

We had booked an aperitivo, but when we ordered, some dishes weren't available: the cucculi were sold out, the panisse were missing from the menu, and the cheese platter wasn't ready due to its age. So, we opted for a small platter of vegetable pies, accompanied by a little Russian salad.
To round out the evening, we chose two first courses: the flavor was good, but the pasta was unfortunately a little too al dente.
We would have also tried the fried mushrooms, but since they're cooked in the same oil as the fish, we skipped it (allergy).
The deconstructed cannoli, on the other hand, was truly excellent and a pleasant surprise.
The location is simply unique: every detail tells a story, and nothing is left to chance.

Excellent, very characteristic restaurant in Genoa's alleyways, with good food and friendly, helpful staff. Perfect for an evening with friends enjoying traditional Ligurian cuisine. Excellent

The retro atmosphere and original furnishings make this place truly unique and charming. We ate wonderfully; the fried fish was spectacular. The coffee served straight from the moka pot... Highly recommended.

returned yesterday after a very long time, the atmosphere, food and service are always excellent.
warm stockfish salad with potatoes, cherry tomatoes and taggiasca olives, an excellent dish to not feel heavy with the current temperatures, but I still couldn't resist a first course that I hadn't eaten in a long time: pansoti with spectacular walnut sauce, with crumbled walnuts not only to garnish the dish but to enhance its flavour.
the dessert was a more than pleasant surprise: first time I tasted the basil cheesecake with chocolate flakes, very fresh and very well balanced.
I hope it won't be too long before I can return again, because 'C'era Una Volta - Trattoria Artigianale' for me is now a fixed point for the discovery or re-discovery of the flavours of Genoese cuisine.

Nous sommes arrivés un peu par hasard dans ce restaurant et nous ne l'avons pas regretté. Les assiettes sont copieuses et tout est fait maison. Nous étions probablement les seuls touristes, le reste de la clientèle était composée de locaux et d'habitués. L'accueil est bon enfant et le service rapide.La décoration est faussement désordonnée dans un style disons, vintage. Nous avons commandé des trofiete al pesto et des spaghetti al frutte di mar dont je conserve un souvenir ému ! Ce serait dommage de venir à Gênes sans passer se régaler dans ce petit endroit charmant.

Bel ristorantino, provato sia i primi che il piatto del giorno. Ravioli fatti a mano di pesce e altri di carne alla genovese erano ottimiii. Personale gentile e attento a farti sentire in un ambiente accogliente
