Average place Pastries and savory dishes: Good, really excellent Prices are sky-high! It's a shame about the crazy prices, their beliefs, and their "loro generis" interpretation of the law, which makes us not want to return.

After a long day of walking, we stopped at this historic place where we chose several types of pastries and were welcomed by a very pleasant young lady who gave us recommendations! They were excellent. Then, we sat on the terrace, we enjoyed our pastries as well as our drinks. Indeed it may be a little more expensive than elsewhere. However, it is well worth the price.

A place full of history and charm, a Genoa institution. We had all our breakfasts there for three days, so much did we enjoy the cappuccino, the veneer pastries, and the fresh orange juice. The service is attentive and efficient. They don't take cards to pay, but you're warned upon entering and they explain why, if you take the time to read (and, you can understand why!). It's a shame for those who won't discover this establishment because of the complainers who want to pay for everything by card.

FABULOUS pastry shop! Excellent, delicious pastries. The owners' stance on "NO POS" remains ABSURD...but it's also ABSURD to charge €3 per person for table service (basically the cost of breakfast!).

I'm recommending this ice cream shop because, in addition to its delicious gelato, it stands out for its friendly staff. I thank the lady at the counter for her kindness and friendliness.

19/11/2025: Our dinner here was very good. At our server's recommendation we ordered the tuna steak which was cooked & seasoned to perfection. The pasta with shrimp and zucchini was also excellent. We know that Portofino's prices are sky high and expected to pay quite a bit for our meal. We were somewhat surprised that a glass of wine was €14, but then to be charged €14 for a small limoncello was an even bigger surprise. But the worst surprise of all was that although we read that a 15% service charge would be added to the price of the meal, our server told us it "went to taxes and other things" and that it wasn't to be considered a tip! Very disappointing way to end a lovely meal.
