Caffè Matteotti is easily accessible from the RC Lido train station. The selection of croissants, including vegan options, and granitas are the perfect way to start your day.

I think I ate one of the best gelatos 🍨 of my life, especially considering that the entire time I was enjoying my 3 flavors + cream inside a brioche (cu tuppu), the gelato didn't melt at all, spectacular.
Also, kudos to the gelato maker, who was kind, helpful, and very professional, which is no longer a given. Delicious gelato 🍦 😋

It's a truly delicious place. It offers a welcoming space where you can enjoy an excellent aperitivo with a splendid view of the picturesque Strait of Messina. I highly recommend trying the iced coffee and the crema reggina gelato—an experience not to be missed!
If you prefer table service, be aware that the wait is longer than in other Italian cities. So, be patient. However, the staff often tend to greet their close friends and acquaintances, but not tourists. This is a common and problematic issue in most places in Reggio Calabria.

Historic ice cream shop, very nice outdoor location with sea view but lately the quality has degraded and the prices have increased... the ice cream is good and they always have innovative flavors but I don't recommend the strawberry granita
