Caffè Mattei In Ravenna

Grand Hotel Mattei (Ravenna) was a great place to regroup and reset after 4 weeks of road travel and touring. Plenty of easy parking right outside, wow! The lifts were big and fast. Check-in quick. Rooms clean and comfortable. Bathroom and shower were a good size, with places to put makeup and hair stuff. Hanging places for towels and a shaving/makeup mirror (so many places don't have this, which is such a simple addition!) More lighting in the bathroom is always a good thing. The bed was very comfortable. The restaurant for dinner was fabulous, busy, but fast service. Breakfast was fabulous. Would have liked secured Wifi, or at least a message to say the Hotspot was secure. All in all really great. Thanks to all the staff.

I think if it’s grand hotel ,at least it have to be any vegetables for the breakfast…

Nice hotel, excellent staff, good restaurant. Available to accommodate your requests (we were travelling with kids and we required an out-of-menu dish for them: no problem and served with a positive feeling to do something nice for the kids and not as a favour for the parents). Logistic base for Mirabilandia park, old western theme room. Kids enjoyed. Excellent breakfast!

We spent the Easter weekend in Ravenna. Convenient hotel for reaching the city centre.

Hotel Mattei is where I stay whenever I have to go to Ravenna either for a visit or for a refresher course. I have been staying here very frequently over the last 10 years and over time the hotel has only improved. The rooms overall are beautiful and in line with the 4 S stars. Clean and tidy. The only flaw is perhaps the formation of limescale in the taps and shower heads which create irregular jets and sometimes you can get your trousers wet from a tap that sprays here and there. The comfortable restaurant on the ground floor offers hearty breakfasts and dinners with a fixed or à la carte menu. Large outdoor parking. The hotel is located very close to the city of Ravenna and easy to reach via the main roads.
