The place is a bit small but very nice, with historic furnishings. The coffee and hot chocolate are good. Prices are perhaps a bit high, but Oropa is a tourist destination, and that's fine. The staff is always friendly.

Very welcoming service and very kind staff

Very nice place, both inside and outside with tables overlooking the first square of the Oropa complex. Many waiters, adequate for the intense influx of people. Breakfast: Good brioche, shame that they serve after the coffee is finished, for no reason given that there was a lot of staff and few customers. Price 2 euros, a little expensive. Aperitif: they don't serve medium beer, even though they have a draft, only a small one at 5 euros (expensive). We then had a Pinsa margherita to nibble and, let's say terrible, perhaps frozen. 10 euros, very expensive. For the rest, very kind staff.

A historic and traditional bar, sitting inside feels like you're back in the early 1900s. It's elegant and refined, just like it used to be. Among the treats to try is a delicious coffee from a local Biella roaster—a small operation unlike anything you've seen these days. It's also a pleasure to stop for an aperitif with friends outside under these enormous arches, with a stunning view of the monastery. Don't expect the usual city-style happy hour fare. The menu is extensive, with local liqueurs and a variety of chocolates to choose from. The "Mucroncino" cookies, a delicious hazelnut biscuit made by them in their own pastry shop, are a must-try. Prices are reasonable for touristy resorts. An excellent choice.
