When I go to Chiavari for an aperitif, Caffè delle Carrozze is a must. My partner takes the aperitif with a plate of appetizers, while I dive into their fantastic toasted sandwiches! They are delicious and made with local ingredients, such as cooked ham from Castiglione Chiavarese. I take the smoked toast, with lots of provola, and it's delicious. I recommend it, it's a must try! Just as you must try their special coffees, with cream (very fresh) and other ingredients of your choice. Finally, the pastries: excellent pasticciotti filled with various creams, apple puff pastries, tartlets and cakes.
