A historic Genoese restaurant, the owner Viviana is extremely kind and professional, always smiling, which is truly rare in Genoa. P.S. The aperitif was made to order with simple but quality appetizers.

Eravamo in gita a Genova e dopo aver visitato alcuni luoghi storici della zona abbiamo optato per un pranzo al Cafè il Barbarossa. Ottime le empandas e le trofie al pesto. Nel menù non sono indicate le bevande, abbiamo ordinato due calici di Pigato, al momento del conto la sorpresa: "8.00€ a calice" veramente esagerato! Il personale è simpatico e accogliente ma ecco, prima di ordinare da bere chiedete magari il costo per non avere spiacevoli sorprese.

23/11/2025: I'm a regular customer who always comes for breakfast in the morning, with a simple brioche and cappuccino, but it's always excellent. Even when there are lots of customers, the staff always have a smile; absolutely recommended! 🥰

08/12/2025: Why so many... Friday, November 28th, dinner in a very welcoming, small, and intimate restaurant with stone walls, typical of Genoa's alleys. We spent €56 including the €20 discount on the Fork. We had two appetizers, two first courses, two desserts, and a bottle of water. I'd say the price was right. The appetizer was a generous and delicious steak tartare, and the octopus salad. Perhaps the olives, a bit too much, covered the flavor of the octopus. The first course was pansotti and spaghetti with seafood sauce and arugula, delicious, and the dessert was delicious. Why...? Negative comments about the service? As far as I'm concerned, it was fast enough, attentive, helpful, and I'd add friendly. Congratulations, in fact. We're in Genoa, so if you're expecting the holidays, it's better to go somewhere else.
