We happened upon it by chance, and it was very cozy, and the food and service were very, very good. Highly recommended.

We're off to South Tyrol tomorrow evening. Our first stop will be the Götzfriedkeller on Saturday. We discovered it last year and have been there twice. We had wonderful seating and dining both inside and outside. Very welcoming hosts and therefore well-known in the region. We're looking forward to it. Jens and Kristin from the Waterkant

If you're looking for a place where authentic South Tyrolean tradition is still present, this is the place—perfect! Enchanting location and setting. I hope to find it like this again when I return, far from the commercial stereotypes that are taking over, especially in Merano, to the detriment of tradition and my wallet. Excellent food, fair prices.

It couldn't be better! Excellent food, a beautiful spot to sit under a large fig tree, very friendly and child-friendly hosts. A small playground. A place to linger!

We're huge fans of the Götzfriedkeller and have been coming here at least once per South Tyrol vacation for years! The landlady, Angelika, is especially warm and fond of children, and the food is always delicious. Our favorite: the Götzfriedteller – the perfect snack platter for us, along with some delicious desserts. The inn is a typical Buschenschank (wine tavern), appropriately rustic, with a lovely, quiet, and shady terrace. There's a small playground with a slide, swing, and sandbox, baby changing facilities, and very clean restrooms.
