They are very good at dealing with tourists. The waiter, who seems to be a professional in his field, compliments the woman he is with while working. It's a kind of entertainment. And childish.
The food is average, or rather, it is tailored for tourists.
I guess I paid the tip poorly, because I wrote €10 for the tip on the bill, but they actually took €20. By the way, the original amount including the coperto was €140. Maybe I should have just left the cash on the table. Well, that was my fault.
It was actually fun, and my wife seemed satisfied, but I don't recommend it because it's not cost-effective lol
It's a half-baked memory lol
For your reference.

Having been here 3 times over the last 26 years we were disappointed to be served huge portions of food...very off-putting.....service without humour only irritation...also now see no Italians eat here...not going back.

A bit disappointed. I first came to this restaurant with my boyfriend over five years ago, based on a recommendation from a local friend who grew up in Florence. We absolutely loved it, it was cozy, traditional, full of locals, with just a few tourists. The food was authentic, and we made wonderful memories there. My boyfriend has been talking about their tiramisu for years, calling it the best he’s ever had.
Now, several years later, we’re back in Florence and naturally decided to return. When we arrived, the atmosphere was chaotic, which we didn’t mind, as it fit the vibe of a classic, lively Italian trattoria/osteria. However, we immediately noticed the crowd was almost entirely tourists. I was probably the only Italian guest in the room, apart from the staff. This could be explained by its popularity growing through social media, but it already gave a different feel.
Still hopeful, we sat down and ordered: a lasagna, tagliata with rucola and parmesan, roasted potatoes, a side of asparagus, and a bottle of red wine.
The food came out very quickly, almost too fast. The tagliata was overcooked (well done instead of medium), but they were kind enough to take it back and bring out a properly cooked one, which we appreciated.
Now for the food:
• The lasagna was just okay, a bit underwhelming and lacking that comforting, homemade Italian feel we remembered.
• The tagliata was fine, but nothing special.
• The asparagus side was simply steamed with no seasoning, no oil, just plain.
• The tiramisu was good, but the mascarpone cream was a bit watery, missing that rich, velvety texture.
Overall, it felt like the restaurant has shifted focus, more about getting plates out fast and turning over tables rather than delivering the kind of heartfelt cooking we experienced years ago.
Prices have also gone up significantly. I didn’t expect them to be the same after five years, of course, but when I pay €28 for a lasagna and €18 for a side of asparagus, I expect something memorable, something made with love and care.
I can’t say for sure, but it feels like the restaurant may now be catering mainly to tourists, and as a result, the quality and soul of the food have taken a step back. It’s a shame, because this place once held a very special spot in our memories.

T-bone is well-done for my taste. It is good to share one serving for two people and order one other dish. If you order the smallest bottle of house wine, you will get three glasses. The price is okay^^

I get the local hate because these places are pushing out the real old school eateries and Florence is already badly over touristed. But if you are an American like me looking for an exceptional dinner, I would have to recommend this place! Best steak I have ever had honestly and the rest of the dishes were also amazing. We had the osso buco and it was the second best I have had. The prices were not as bad as people are making them sound in the reviews and it was awesome seeing them wheel out the steaks for 3 or 4 people and the look on people's faces. They definitely cater to tourists but that's what I was looking for so get in there for a great experience!
