Buca Mario In Firenze

My sons and I went here for Florentine steak ($295 for 3 people, sides extra) two weeks ago and it was the best meal I’ve ever had in my life. The steak was cooked absolutely to perfection and seasoned extremely well and was the most tender, wonderful steak I’ve ever had. We also enjoyed the sides of asparagus and potatoes with truffles. I will be back as soon as I can get to Florence again. The waiter wasn’t very friendly, but the one next to him was and would sing and was wonderful. Definitely make reservations to get in. The place is bigger than you first think it is.

Went for dinner. There are two waves for reservations and you wait outside in a line to go in (yes, even if you have a reservation). Ours was at 9:30pm. Our favorite dish was the burrata appetizer. I got the florentine steak for one, but wouldn’t recommend it if you have good steak elsewhere. It’s huge but not well seasoned. The lasagna was very unique and good with no layers or tomato sauce. Worth a try but not what you have in mind when you think of lasagna. More like a tagliatelle. The tiramisu was very good, as was the berry tart. Service was excellent! Overall, glad we tried it.

Our waiter Aldo was efficient and catered to our needs 150%! The famous lasagna was worth coming for but we also loved the seafood pasta. Would recommend booking as they do book out and would come again!

Charming and truly amazing. Great service and food. Good lasagna 👍🏻, fish, zucchini carpaccio and the best tiramisu we had in Italy.

This was my second time in Florence, and I had always wanted to go to this restaurant, so I made a reservation. The service was fantastic, and the food was also excellent. Everything, including the braised shank, was amazing! I'd love to go again.

Amazing, great, authentic food. If you’re looking for a feast rather than just a dinner, this is the place for you. The night before, we were at La Giostra. This restaurant is not comparable to Buca Mario. Buca Mario beats it on every possible level while keeping the same price point. We started with beef carpaccio with artichokes and Parmesan cheese. It was phenomenal. For the main course, we decided on tagliata di filetto as well as beef fillet with truffle. Both dishes were outstanding. The meat was among the best we have ever had at any restaurant. I must stress that it was cooked exactly to our order, medium. It wasn’t overdone or undercooked; it was simply perfect. You could really taste the excellent quality of the ingredients. To accompany this, the grey haired waiter, whose name we unfortunately do not know, perfectly paired our meal with a glass of Brunello di Montalcino, which was simply amazing. We are glad that we left some room for dessert. Choosing the dessert itself was a great pleasure and experience, as they are presented on a beautifully arranged trolley. Each dessert makes your mouth water. We chose the tiramisu, which was excellent. Overall, the restaurant was truly exceptional on every level. We felt very well taken care of by the entire staff, especially the waiter with the grey hair and grey beard. We definitely recommend this place and will come back when we are in Florence. We can’t wait to try other items on the menu, as even though we were already amazed, I am more than sure there are even more exquisite dishes to discover.

A typical Florentine trattoria, good but nothing special. Prices, in my opinion, are too high for this type of place. The staff are friendly and helpful. I recommend it, but nothing special.
