If you visit this place, you absolutely must try the stroncatura, a typical dish from the Gioia Tauro plain. It's made with a long, rough pasta with a slightly coarse flavor, made with whole-wheat flour left over from milling. It's topped with anchovies, tomatoes, olives, capers, and toasted breadcrumbs.
