Excellent pizzas, both in terms of cooking and flavor. Helpful staff. Keep them in mind for the summer... because this year they organized two evenings with salsa music and a Cuban DJ, where they sold out. Tables along the sidewalk, inside the dining room, and in the outdoor gazebo... and most people were dancing... what a blast... finding a place like this in the heart of Taranto?... It's unique... ask! The wait for a table... depends on the time of year, the evening, etc. Personal advice: book.

Great place. The pizzas are delicious. I loved the Umbé pizza. An original white pizza with a delicious pistachio cream, reminiscent of a delicate pesto. For Spaniards, like me, who are unfamiliar with Puglian cuisine, straciatella has nothing to do with chocolate. It's a more "spreader" type of burrata. The girl who served us was charming, as is everyone in Taranto. The prices were very reasonable.

Tratoria Piedicastello

05/01/2026: One of the city's oldest trattorias, with fair prices and a very charming setting at the foot of Doss Trento. Parking is available in the large former Italcementi parking lot nearby. The food is more or less typical and the prices are reasonable. We had a bit of a wait and pressed the waiters for our orders, but we were very happy with the service. Every request, such as heating up a child's lunch or a high chair, was met with ease! I recommend a visit if you're looking for a traditional Trento restaurant away from the crowds of the city center.
03/01/2026: Unfortunately, the experience wasn't the best. We ordered two menus for €38 per person (appetizer, two first courses, two second courses, and coffee). One of the menus was gluten-free, but the pasta was definitely overcooked, and we couldn't get a second first course. Furthermore, there were no gluten-free bread or other alternatives available. Overall, we weren't particularly satisfied with the food. The place is nice, but the bathrooms could use a better cleaning and a renovation.
