I am reacting to a review from a local guide David Greens 3 years ago… Borgo Antico about owner/ chef Filindo is not deserving of your Bird like review referencing him as a Peacock. I politely suggest the title of peacock be more fitting with the latter…These hidden gems and villagers are NOT awaiting for perhaps kick back group travelers they are welcoming, gracious to prepare something of great content upon arrival. Their menus are offered by fresh supplies solely on local forage and seasonal produce and availability. Quality at best. My review is based on 2015 and most recent visit 2024.
Fact checked on everything, it is the same and we felt lucky to find Borgo open and the opportunity to reunite with Filindo and experience this mountain top Trattoria again. Trattoria description is available for viewing in the dictionary. Thank you once again for a wonderful experience and memory!

I stopped in for coffee with a local who kindly showed me around, telling me about the village. I was drawn to the place and the owner's helpfulness and courtesy. The aromas wafting from the kitchen were delicious, and the parmigiana was being prepared. It was early to stop for lunch. I liked the place and the atmosphere. I plan to return soon for lunch.

Excellent food. Nice place. The owner is a bit gruff, especially if you eat before he explains the provenance of his food. Another flaw is that you don't know the detailed cost of what you order.
In any case, it's worth a try.

I ate at this restaurant last week, and more than just lunch, it was a truly positive experience. The food, the atmosphere, and the owner, Filindo, I loved everything. I'll be back!

We returned once again. And once again, we were convinced it was worth it. The selection of appetizers is worth the trip. Excellent Genovese lasagna, quality entrecôte steak. The tiramisu, made in their own way, was a pleasant surprise. Filindo is the highlight of the place; he is its soul, with his gruff yet kind welcome.

Obsessive search for raw materials, absolutely authentic dishes, unique village. A wonderful selection of traditional dishes. Molise is here!!! Bravo!
