An exceptional trattoria unlike any other. I was a guest in Molise and a friend took me to Filindo. It was an experience I'll always remember! Amazing food and incredibly friendly service, thank you!

An excellent dining experience at Trattoria Borgo Antico this evening. The food was exceptionally well prepared, rooted in traditional Italian cuisine, with clear respect for technique and authentic flavours. What truly elevates the experience, however, is the staff: remarkably kind, attentive, and professional, contributing to a warm yet refined atmosphere.

A truly excellent experience! A typical Molise trattoria in the heart of the historic center, a small but charming place. The appetizers were varied and carefully prepared, with passion and attention to detail using quality ingredients. The staff were very kind, helpful, and welcoming. A special thank you goes to the owner, who graciously welcomed us and presented each of us with a delicious homemade panettone and fragrant oregano.

Wherever you are in Molise, head to Civita and try the tasting menu offered by La Trattoria: a small cannoli with cod will open a parade of ancient flavors and new nuances that will delight you for as long as you have room, accompanied by attentive, warm, and friendly service. At the end of the dinner, we were also treated to a small artisanal panettone and a jar of local oregano: we really couldn't have asked for more!

If you're a lover of hidden gems, places that surprise you because they're authentic and focused on substance rather than aesthetics, you're looking for the right place. The innkeeper and chef are father and son, proudly Molise-born. They showcase their region with seasonal, quality products, from porcini mushrooms to cheeses and, finally, the (spectacular) Molise white truffle. Thank you for (r)esist.

I am reacting to a review from a local guide David Greens 3 years ago… Borgo Antico about owner/ chef Filindo is not deserving of your Bird like review referencing him as a Peacock. I politely suggest the title of peacock be more fitting with the latter…These hidden gems and villagers are NOT awaiting for perhaps kick back group travelers they are welcoming, gracious to prepare something of great content upon arrival. Their menus are offered by fresh supplies solely on local forage and seasonal produce and availability. Quality at best. My review is based on 2015 and most recent visit 2024. Fact checked on everything, it is the same and we felt lucky to find Borgo open and the opportunity to reunite with Filindo and experience this mountain top Trattoria again. 21/09/2025: 2025, two years have passed, and we returned to spend an evening at this restaurant. Nothing has changed except the menu (thankfully) :). Welcomed by the owner, who was very friendly, as was his wife, we chose the "seafood" menu. Once again, an exquisite meal from start to finish. Nothing to complain about except perhaps the enormous quantities in each dish, even though we were on a gourmet menu (6 courses). Congratulations to Chef Cuoco, who creates these dishes. One conclusion: quickly discover this Italian gastronomic destination that combines quality and friendliness, all at an unbeatable price. 2023: What a wonderful experience to have in a small village in Molise. An extraordinary setting, and top-notch cuisine: originality, quality, diversity... 5-star service provided by a smiling and competent staff. Not to mention the owner and his wife, who take great care of their customers. In short, a restaurant that more than deserves the praise of the Gambero Rosso guide. And what about the price? How can you serve this quality at this price? Extraordinary
01/09/2025: We were there for our wedding anniversary and were very satisfied. The place was welcoming, the owner was a delightful and professional person, and they served us high-quality food, expertly prepared by the chef, Giovanni. What can I say? It's a place we'd happily return to.
