26/10/2025: The saying "one lira doesn't get you a million" is so true.
The location was beautiful and the food was truly excellent, from appetizers to dessert. Despite this, we left the restaurant with a bitter taste in our mouths. When it came time to pay the bill (which is fair, considering the above), an employee asked us how we preferred to pay (there were five of us), and we replied with card. When we reached the cash register, the same employee handed us the POS terminal with a single total bill. At that point, since there were five of us, we asked if we could split the bill, as is now common practice in any business these days. We were told, rather rudely, that this was no longer possible (she could simply cancel the transaction and repeat it, splitting the bill), and she told us, in her own words: "That's how it is now, you'll have to manage yourselves." After a moment of awkwardness, due to the fact that not all of us had cash (it's now customary to pay EVERYWHERE by card, splitting the fees) and that the cash register was in the middle of the room, so the scene was witnessed by several customers, one of us paid the entire bill.
Too bad, everything was perfect. We left with a bitter taste in our mouths and the inconvenience of having to wire transfers to our friends outside the venue.
The saying is so true: "You can't make a million for one lira."
