Excellent dinner; beautiful setting, quality service, and generous portions. Delicious dishes. The Chianti tuna, in your favorite version, is out of this world. Tasty and tender. The place is quaint and pleasant, the service is courteous and friendly! If we ever come back to Lucca, we'll definitely be back. We highly recommend it!

Recommended for everyone, they accept children, and it's not the cheapest. We didn't make a reservation and they happily accepted us. No fruit available.

Fabulous! The sausages with pumpkin and pistachio cream were delicious. The gratin potatoes, too. The desserts, too. The girls were so kind, so smiling, and so proud.

Overall, the experience was positive. The place is very cute and welcoming, with a pleasant atmosphere that invites you to spend a relaxing evening. The meat was truly excellent: tender and flavorful. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the tagliatelle cacio e pepe. The pasta was BROKEN and watered down in the sauce; the sauce was too thin, almost like soup, and this compromised both the texture and flavor of the dish. A SHAME!!

We stumbled upon this restaurant and what a great find. It was my favorite meal while in Italy. I asked the waitress what I should get and her suggestion was amazing!! I got the Tagliatelle alla Carbonara del Bastian Contrario del 2008 con Tartufo. I could have eaten it every meal I was there. The pork ribs were also exceptional.

08/02/2026: Saturday evening dinner at 7:30 PM. A historic establishment, documented since 1760. The welcoming rooms are like a true trattoria, with wood-burning fireplaces. Typical Lucca cuisine. We enjoyed excellent tortelli and tasty rovelline, as well as sautéed rapini, which smelled like home. The apple tart with two creams was excellent. Recommended. I've attached the menu, which unfortunately shows the price increase compared to two years ago (example: tortelli from €10 to €14!) that has affected all restaurants.
10/01/2026: We were passing through and stopped at this restaurant for lunch. We were immediately greeted by very friendly staff. The restaurant is charming, quaint, rustic, yet well-maintained. We ate very well: homemade, traditional dishes, all very good at very reasonable prices. I highly recommend it; there are few places like this left these days!

13/09/2025: Beautiful, relaxing atmosphere surrounded by greenery, and upon entry, the inviting yet unobtrusive smell of grilled meat fills the air. The cellar is well-stocked, and during this time of year, mushrooms galore, beautifully pan-fried and grilled caps.
