There are a few outdoor tables under the portico, where you'll also find a newsstand and bus ticket vendor.
I stopped in as soon as I left the station. The place isn't the most trendy, but the sandwiches are some of the best I've ever had in Padua (and a great variety, too), and the staff was also very friendly. It might be a coincidence, but for me it was a positive experience. RECOMMENDED.
