A very well-known place in Turin. I've been there several times and tried their famous "torta tropeziana," which is truly excellent. Prices are moderate, the coffee is good, and the brioches are perhaps a little small and lacking in filling. They don't offer table service.

I've known Pasticceria UVA since middle school. It's an institution, a cornerstone of Via San Secondo, an elegant, healthy, and clean niche that rivals even the pastry shops of Vienna. The friendly staff is attentive to the customer's needs—Gian Luca, Ofelia, Andrea, Massimo, Ruggero, the very kind and cordial cashier Rosa, etc.—and they are all people with a profound and delicate kindness. The croissants are the best in Turin. I've tried other places, there's no comparison...not even in Milan. You just have to go there; it's excellent in every way. Furthermore, they make delicious cakes, including the Tropèzienne, all for the most refined palates. Ingredients, including high-quality flour and flavorings. A small historical note...if Queen Marie Antoinette had given the people croissants from Pasticceria Uva, the French Revolution would never have happened.
