The perfect Italian bar in central Piazza delle Erbe , with tourist office nearby .
Super friendly staff and wonderful Caravatti apéritivo, which we tasted every day and bought a bottle to take home. Yum. Superb plate of ham , lovely snacks.
Our favourite watering hole in magnificent Mantova, made even better by the warm welcome of all the staff. Highly recommended.

I'll start by saying that it's a historic bar, so you may or may not like the decor but it's a very subjective thing, so I won't dwell on this, the vote expressed for the environment only concerns my personal taste. Despite the warmth of the wood, which is decidedly persistent, the same sensation is not conveyed by the staff, who appear poorly trained, not attentive and decidedly approximate. Below average drinks with above average prices. The accompaniment of the aperitif is decidedly sparse, unless you opt to add something on the side. It's not the kind of place for me and I wouldn't recommend it, overall everything works poorly.

We had to wait from 10.25 to 10.55 to be served. The waitresses are very kind, but more staff would be needed to adequately serve all the customers on Sunday morning.

I have been frequenting Mantua for fifteen years and for me, returning to Mantua means enjoying the splendor of the red Caravatti or the Americano. A bar that has an offer that is as refined as it is rich and opulent. However, last Sunday I had to record a very bad experience with a service person. I'm sure the problem will be resolved soon. Super recommended.

Il Caravatti vale una visita a Mantova. Un locale storico che fa apprezzare l’eccellenza italiana. Doveroso degustare il loro storico aperitivo bianco o rosso, ma è anche un locale che si affaccia su piazza delle Erbe che offre molto altro. Squisite le tartine in accompagnamento all’aperitivo (ho apprezzato molto tzatziki e sarda con erba cipollina) . Camerieri giovani, sorridenti, educati, veloci. Gestore gradevolissimo. Sarà che sono genovese e non sono abituata ad un simile servizio…ma torno nella mia città con il Caravatti nel cuore. ♥️
