Monte Berico is naturally an inspiring place, rich in spirituality and culture. Faith and art intertwine, becoming the heart and soul of the community. At the heart of this impulse toward recollection and meditation is, of course, the sanctuary of Santa Maria. It was built in the fifteenth century, after the Marian apparitions, and Palladio also worked on it. The current splendid Baroque structure, rich in sculptures and frescoes, is the result of an eighteenth-century renovation.

A place of faith. A walk around Villa Valmarana and the Rotonda roundabout completes the day.

Worth a visit if you're devoted to the Madonna. Architecturally, it's an uninspired baroque building.

A charming Baroque church by Palladio, much appreciated by devotees. Inside, there's supposedly a "Last Supper" by Veronese, but it's probably somewhere near the church, in a paid space. From the square in front, there's a beautiful view of the city and the nearby mountains of the Vicenza area.
