Bar Bazzanti In Gaeta

Cozy café that feels like home, we went every day we were staying in Gaeta (and sat at the same table every time!). Best cappuccino and cornetto I have ever had. Staff was kind and very helpful since we didn’t speak too much Italian. We had no problems ordering whatsoever. Can’t recommend it enough, it might just be your favorite café.

Gaeta, like any self-respecting seaside resort, has its institutions. Bar Bazzanti is one of them. Located in the center of the medieval village, it has maintained its identity and family-run management over time, which is its hallmark. Coffee with artisanal cream, enjoyed with the typical pasticciotto with cream and black cherries, is served in an atmosphere far removed from the city standards to which one is accustomed. Even at rush hour, when the bar is packed with patrons, Rita, Barbara, and Cristiana's smiles and attentiveness to their customers are never lacking. As soon as you step through the door of the bar, you notice that time slows down, haste is banished, and every request is fulfilled as if it were the only one made, without ever showing the strain of managing a large and often demanding clientele. At sunset, the all-female management gives way to the male side of the family, and you can enjoy Max's aperitivo, immersed in a refined yet unobtrusive selection of music. This is why the Bazzanti bar captivates us at all hours and is our stop before and after the beach, the first place we love to stop when, tired from the chaos of Rome, we arrive in Gaeta to breathe in the sea air and the authenticity of a place that resists all conformity.

Great experience! A very quaint and historic bar located in the heart of Gaeta. Service was quick and efficient despite the large number of customers, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Try their famous giant cappuccinos with cocoa and their delicious, sweet and indulgent sour cherry tarts, the best in the city!

Excellent bar in the center of Gaeta's old town, near the port. Delicious shortbread and excellent coffee. Outdoor seating is available for a quick snack.
