The best thing about Bali Bar is the space. To enter, you have to ring the bell and sometimes wait for someone to answer the door. The entrance is so nondescript it feels like a speakeasy. Once inside, the space is immense, with a beautiful bar/lounge near the entrance and the dining room so far back it surprises you how deep the building goes. The inside feels like a piece of Indonesia somehow perfectly nestled into a 16th century Roman building. It is an escape in every sense from the surrounding neighborhood of Trastevere, delivering Thai and Indonesian classics from a simple menu. If you want to take a break from Italian while spending extended time in Rome, Bali Bar is a crowd pleasing choice. Vegan friendly.

Lots of stars for this place. Very welcoming, typical oriental location, with cushions and tables for an aperitif or after dinner, also featuring a catering area. We ordered the classic sake for a drink (I recommend drinking it hot as it tastes better), accompanied by small tastings including: spring rolls, green papaya salad and corn fritters with saucers of spicy and soy sauce. The guy at the reception is kind and helpful, the lady probably the owner, of Japanese origins, is an explosion of positive energy, always with a smile, welcoming, confidential and kind. The toilets are a bit neglected but of little importance. Excellent price quality. We will definitely try dinner next time. Highly recommended!

First time in this restaurant: family dinner. Different experience from the usual sushi. Good food and well served. The lady who welcomes you, I think she is the owner, is definitely an excellent hostess

This restaurant had a lovely, calm atmosphere which was a welcome change from the bustling, busier laneways of Trastevere. Don't get me wrong, we loved them as well but it was nice to find something different. The service was excellent, as was the food.

Sono stata qui già due anni fa e mi è rimasto nel cuore non potevo non ripassare , cibo ottimo, cocktail supremi e personale cordiale e gentile, propetaria molto cordiale e generosa, gentilissima.
Ottimo servizio ci ritornerò sicuramente e spero molto presto
