It's a fun place because you can buy drinks, snacks, souvenirs, and more, and the restrooms are free. Please note that there is a fee to use the toilet at the gas station. Italy compared to Japan I was surprised at how expensive carbonated drinks were.

Personally, I would put Autogrill out of business due to the absurd prices, but it is a standard autogrill with friendly staff and a clean environment.
