14/09/2025: My wife and I went here on a Friday evening in September. The place is nice, with an outdoor terrace and an indoor dining room. The service, however, leaves much to be desired:
- they had seated us on the terrace, but we asked, and had to insist, that due to the unpleasant wind, we would prefer to dine inside. Being told that they had decided to use only the terrace that evening, otherwise the waiters would have been confused, was grotesque, but in the end we were granted our request (besides, there were already other diners inside, so I don't understand what the problem was).
- a quarter of an hour to order.
- a half-hour wait for beers, appetizers, and two pizzas (not even the drinks arrived immediately).
- the pizzas arrive first, then the appetizer.
- a couple at the next table orders eggplant appetizers, and suddenly, something completely different arrives; they politely protest, but the waitress replies that... that's what they have.
In short... amateurs at random.
The pizzas were good, though not unforgettable, but definitely good.
The potato croquets were good, but probably frozen.
The prices were reasonable.
We'd love to return to try the food (which many say is sublime), but... the promise isn't good.
They could use at least one smart waiter in the dining room and more professionalism from the manager. You can't improvise in restaurants.
30/08/2025: We had dinner, with a reservation, at Osteria Diabasis, located in the historic center of Ascea (the capital). We chose the pizza we were craving, but perusing the menu, several of the first courses and main courses caught our attention, particularly the Cilento specialties. The restaurant is well-kept and tidy. We dined on the covered terrace, which was very pleasant and naturally cool. The service was courteous and attentive. The pizza was truly excellent, both in terms of the dough and the freshness and flavor of the ingredients. The Muraglione pizza is highly recommended. We opted for a craft red beer and finished with a dessert by the glass with ricotta and Cilento white figs, delicious. A great experience!
