I was a kid again when I tasted this kind of pizza in pala, made the way it used to be. Quality ingredients and (I don't know the owner's age) many years (really many) of experience.
It won me over, and I can confirm that it's the best pizza in Rome, without a doubt.
I'd like to point out that Gianni works from 9:00 AM until he runs out of pizzas, so the flavors of the stuffed pizzas and the closing time will depend on how many people come to the place, with the approximate closing time being 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Driven by the reviews, I'm honest, I decided to go and try it too. I can only confirm everything that is said in the beautiful reviews here.
The place is "of the past", a simple counter with only stuffed white pizzas. The owner serving.
At 1:30 pm when I arrived, unfortunately there were only 2 flavors available. Both excellent.

Simply the best stuffed pizza by the slice in Italy and the world, made by the most professional and deeply rooted person in the trade. Gianni is an example for similar businesses, watching him work is a pleasure, and he pays obsessive attention to the product (removes the excess crumb, dusts off the excess flour). Many flavors of pizzas all baked on the spot and pizza with an unparalleled crispiness. The price is a little high but it is definitely worth it. Unfortunately there are very few businesses run with this love and passion for their trade and Gianni is one of these more unique than rare cases.

The best pizza by the slice in Rome. A legend and an absolute guarantee. Only crispy white pizza filled, many flavors. My favorite is the crab one, but the ones with tuna and rocket, omelette with zucchini, porchetta and many other flavors are also exceptional. Unmissable!!!

An institution in Rome!!! It will certainly be a great disappointment when, hopefully in many years, Gianni closes, he is super good and kind, fantastic stuffed pizza only, go there before he can close or you will regret it, the closing time is 3pm but you could find it closed even earlier if he finishes the pizza he made, go before 1pm to be sure to find it open

Andate verso le 10.30-11, Gianni comincia a sfornare la pizza. Dalle ore 12 alle ore 14 la fila è importante, per le 14.30 la pizza è finita e Gianni chiude. Questo è "Gianni al mattone", pizza eccezionale e solo ripiena: Tonnata, Granchio, Caprese, Frittata, ecc. Impasto fragrante, unico, prodotti ottimi, prezzo ottimi.
Un vero patrimonio di Roma!

What can I say? Simply exceptional pizza, filled with "tonnata", "granchio", "frittata" etc etc. Gianni is great, great prices.
You have to try it!
P.S. There is always a line at lunch, Gianni starts taking out the pizzas at around 10:30. By 2 pm the pizzas are finished and Gianni closes.
A true piece of magnificent Roman history!
