Trattoria tipica affacciata sulla piazza centrale del paese. Ottima cucina toscana: piatti intramontabili e irrinunciabili come crostini neri, collo di cappone ripieno, tonno del Chianti, ribollita, pici, galletto arrosto, rotolo di coniglio farcito, faraona... Buon rapporto qualità - prezzo. Servizio attento.

Good morning, I deleted the negative review by mistake regarding the episode that happened on 01/21/25 at dinner. I wanted to thank the company because this morning my son received an invitation card for 2 people for the episode that happened. Serious companies do this. On a cold January evening, entering with a beautiful pellet stove that heats the perfectly cared for environment already tastes like home, typical Tuscan cuisine with plenty of choice, tagliolini with truffles, tripe and fried artichokes, exceptional vegetable flan, but the guinea fowl was a wonderful thing, never eaten so good, the professional service was also excellent, attentive and made the customers feel at ease, lots of choice and a lot of quality even in the wines, which say ..thank you thank you thank you for this wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

Lunch was excellent, in an environment that transmits all the warmth of tradition, making you feel at home. We started with some hot delights as a starter. As first courses, we chose the cheese and pear gnocchi, delicate and refined, and the pici with ragù. To conclude, we savored a fragrant and creamy millefeuille. An experience to repeat!

Soso, lala - war unsere Meinung nach dem Nachtessen an einem Wochentag im November. Wir waren bereits ab 19:00 Uhr dort und es waren kaum andere Gäste anzutreffen - was wir dem nahen Saisonende zuschrieben. Umso mehr haben wir deshalb von der Küche erwartet und wurden schlicht enttäuscht. Die hausgemachten Tortelli mit Ricotta - Kräuterfüllung an Butter und Mandeln, schmeckten fad und völlig lieblos. Der Teig an den Ecken war viel zu dick und nicht fertig gegart, jede Industrie Massenware schmeckt genau so gut wenn nicht besser. Danach freuten wir uns auf den gerollten Kaninchenbraten, üblicherweise eine echte Spezialität in der Toscana. Aber auch hier wurden wir enttäuscht. Das Kaninchen war aufgewärmt und daher das Fleisch extrem trocken, die Portionengrösse eher knapp bemessen, dafür der Preis am oberen Limit. Die extra dazu bestellten weissen Bohnen kamen direkt auf der Dose, es fehlte an allem wie Zwiebeln, Öl oder Butter. Schade! Ich kenne das Antica Torre aus früheren Besuchen und hatte die Qualität in guter Erinnerung. Nie war die Küche hier absolut Top, aber auch nie wirklich schlecht! Noch weiss ich nicht, ob wir im kommenden November wieder hier einkehren möchten.

16/03/2025: We returned to eat at Osteria del Leone and for us it was confirmed as the best restaurant in the area. We started with appetizers of hand-cut ham and pate with exquisite pa brioche made by them. Then to follow pici with garlic, cacio e pepe and their carbonara which is truly Top! Then among the specials we took the pork chop cooked at low temperature and the truly special mullets stuffed with smoked provola and fried. To close on all the delicious desserts, a special mention for the buffalo ricotta ice cream with sour cherries which was truly incredible. Fast and kind service. Wine list for connoisseurs with a wide selection of labels and prices. We will definitely return on our next visit to Siena. Well done!
23/02/2025: I booked well in advance, specifying that it was a special occasion: a surprise dinner for my husband's 40th birthday, part of a romantic weekend in Bagno Vignoni. I had read from the reviews that the unmissable specialty of the place is carbonara, which is my husband's favorite dish. Already from our arrival the staff showed great attention and sensitivity, welcoming us with sincere smiles and great care. The waiter was truly delightful: friendly, very knowledgeable about the dishes and very good at advising us. The restaurant manager also pampered us with care, suggesting an ideal wine that turned out to be perfect to accompany dinner. The best surprise arrived at the right time: a portion of their fantastic carbonara, not requested but kindly offered by the staff, complete with a candle for the birthday boy! A gesture that moved us and made us feel truly special. All the dishes were excellent, elegantly presented and prepared with local ingredients of extraordinary quality: from the artichoke alla giudia and the liver pâté as a starter, to the risotto and pigeon, each course was exquisite. You can clearly feel that behind every dish there is authentic passion, competence and a sincere love for the territory. At the end of the evening we also had the pleasure of a spontaneous and very pleasant chat with the chef (who I believe is also the main manager), who added a further touch of warmth and personality to a truly memorable dinner. Highly recommended also for the excellent quality-price ratio!

ANTICO TRAVAGLIO

12/03/2025: Ate here twice in the last few days, and it was amazing. Meals worthy of mentioning were the specials/menu of the day, artichoke risotto, and polenta with wild boar ragu, also on the main menu the rabbit stuffed with artichoke was devine. I hope to make it back here again!
10/03/2025: I was there for lunch yesterday, my compliments for the place, the service and then with commendable dishes from the starter to the fantastic dessert ❤️
