Typical restaurant with Trentino cuisine, great quality and attention to local dishes. Impeccable service.

I expected everything except finding this delightful family-run trattoria in the center of such a modern and fashionable town like Trento, with a nostalgic flavor in every sense. Excellent dishes, prepared with care. The price is also from another era. Be careful because it has few tables so it is difficult to find a seat.

The dumplings in broth are excellent. Very kind and friendly service. Good location, close to the centre. Very nice and warm environment

ANTICA TRATTORIA AL VOLT Via Santa Croce, 16, 38122 Trento TN: VERY GOOD In February 2025, arriving in the graceful Trento almost by chance or more precisely to attend an opera show at the theatre, in a historic center of ancient memory you cannot fail to visit the Antica Trattoria al Volt, a few minutes walk away from the Cathedral. With only 9 tables, reservations are required (with the suggested start of lunch at 12) upon entering the restaurant you are immersed in a small and very simple, organized and happy environment where you can order (fortunately still with an à la carte menu) genuine foods and from flavor of the past, all of them better than the other, of which it is therefore perfectly useless to recommend one rather than another because they are all more than good. Very fresh and pleasant desserts. Liqueurs or grappa, coffee with a "glass" cup mixed with two delicious amaretto sweets. House wine not bad. Prices in line with the best that can be achieved. Waiters, housekeepers and the owner are all kind and welcoming. Trattoria like few are seen nowadays. A genuine, family atmosphere, excellent food (we ate the shin but I also recommend the Tonco del pontesel). The owner is very courteous and attentive to customers. Excellent quality/price ratio.

Small but very welcoming place, as were the guys who served us. The dumplings with butter and sage and the pappardelle with venison ragù are excellent, all freshly prepared. The beef dish with polenta and sauerkraut is very tender and tasty and the loose Teroldego wine is good (only it should be served less cold to enjoy it better). The apple pie and tiramisu are excellent. Normal prices (€66 for two). No internal parking available but a little further on there is space on the road. Experience to be repeated.

Friendliness and helpfulness of the managers. You feel at home! They don't need my confirmation then they generated their appreciation on their own, but it's right to recognize it! Well done.

What can I say, you have to go there. Excellent prices compared to average and top quality. Courtesy and speed (N.B. it does not accept reservations but seats can be found quite quickly, so don't be discouraged). The homemade strudel was delicious 😋

Non si pensi al nome trattoria per nascondere un raffinato ristorante. E' proprio una trattoria vera, antica, molto caratteristica, piccolina (non accettano prenotazioni), con tovaglioli di stoffa e con un servizio che è più indirizzato verso un approccio simpatico piuttosto che verso una efficienza sul recepimento e distribuzione delle ordinazioni . E' molto ricercata per la posizione centrale ma anche per l'offerta tipica della cucina trentina, con prodotti di buona qualità e ben cucinati.

Locale piccolo e non si può prenotare infatti abbiamo dovuto aspettare mezz’ora. Ma ne vale la pena: a partire dall’accuratezza del servizio, camerieri simpatici, piatti semplici, pochi ma buonissimi e tipici della tradizione trentina, per non parlare del prezzo finale, rapporto qualità prezzo davvero super. Consigliatissimo!
