Our visit to Antica Trattoria Al Gallinaccio started out a little bit rocky, as we arrived a few minutes prior to our reservation at 7:30 and we didn't get seated until after 8pm. I did notice they had a large group of 10 that may have thrown off their schedule.
However, once we were seated the magic began. This place feels quite like an authentic Roman neighborhood trattoria, and the food was fantastic. My rigatoni alla gricia con carciofi was the best thing I ate in Rome that wasn't gelato. We'll definitely be back on our next trip through.

In certain areas of Rome, you have to be wary of tourist traps. This place is an oasis in the desert. Warm hospitality and authentic food. A focaccia to share at the start of the meal and a gricia are all you need to know. Very fair prices considering this area of Rome.

I made a reservation on Google and went there on the last day of my trip to Italy. I had carbonara, cacio e pepe, vegetable salad, two glasses of wine, and tiramisu for about 55 euros. It was quite reasonable for Rome. The food was delicious, and the service from the staff was also excellent. It's not a luxurious restaurant, but it had a homey, relaxing atmosphere.

Sono stata qualche gg a Roma e ho avuto modo di cenare praticamente tutte le sere tranne il loro giorno di chiusura….primi piatti romani STREPITOSI…carciofi alla romana i più buoni che abbia mai mangiato….trippa alla romana favolosa!!!
Lo consiglio vivamente ….vicino a Palazzo Barberini per la mostra di Caravaggio…chi la visiterà consiglio di cenare poi qui!!
Personale scrupoloso e molto accogliente…attento ad esaudire ogni richiesta del cliente!!
Quando tornerò a Roma …tornerò sicuramente a cena da loro!!!

Abbiamo cenato ieri sera in questo ristorante... Peccato fosse l'ultima sera a Roma perché avremmo voluto provare tutto il menù... A Roma è difficile mangiare male ma questo locale ha una marcia in più!! Abbiamo mangiato gricia con carciofi, cacio e pepe, abbacchio allo scottadito e ossobuco...tutto buonissimo, ma i primi in particolare, paragonati a quelli dei giorni precedenti erano davvero favolosi!!
