Spectacular Sila sandwich, a bit of a wait during peak hours, but worth it.
I'm downgrading my review from 5 to 3 stars because they don't respect the closing time listed on the Google page, which is supposed to be 5:00 PM, but I found it closed at 4:10 PM.

In Moccone, in the heart of the Sila, Barrese is a must-visit for those who love authentic sandwiches. I chose a hot sandwich with grilled capocollo, stringy caciocavallo silano cheese, and 'mbacchiuse potatoes, a flavorful Cosenza specialty. Fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked, and aromas that captivate you from the first bite. Friendly staff and quick service. Prices are a bit high (€7.50 for the sandwich), but in line with the area and more than make up for it in the quality.

The sandwich was excellent, but the outside of the restaurant, where you can eat under the pine trees, was very dirty, with full bins, paper and plastic cups on the floor, dirty tables, and no restrooms for customers. I returned at the beginning of August 25th. The cleanliness had improved, with bins for recycling, but restrooms were still unavailable.

We had one of the best sandwiches ever! Made with authentic, top-quality ingredients, all homemade and also available for purchase. The kindness and passion of the people who work there make it even more special.
From now on, it will be a regular stop every time we're in the area. We recommend it 100%, you won't regret it! 🥰

A perfect match between tradition and flavor. The sandwich from Antica Salumeria Barrese is a must for anyone visiting Camigliatello Silano. The sausage, cooked to perfection, is tasty and succulent. The mpacchiuse potatoes, typical of Sila, are soft and slightly crunchy, adding a unique texture to the sandwich. The caciocavallo, stringy and tasty, ties everything together with its creaminess. The bread, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, holds the ingredients together without crumbling. The place is welcoming, with a rustic atmosphere that recalls Sila traditions. The staff is friendly and ready to advise on the best combinations of ingredients. It's definitely worth it.

We come every time we want to enjoy a typical Sila sandwich. They are really super. Small request to improve the area where you can eat outside. People should also leave it clean.
