Annina Caffè In Saronno

I have mixed feelings about this place. We arrived late afternoon and we were really looking for drinks and a snack. We sat at the tables in the shade outside and a young lady came to serve us. Maybe it was our lack of Italian and hers of English/German but we couldn't really make ourselves understood. BUT, she made it very clear that they had no food. So we jut ordered iced cappuccino coffees and water. When the coffees came they looked and tasted great. Very artistically presented at 2€ each! But what surprised me was that when I went in to use the restrooms I saw a range of sweet pastries and one of the young men confirmed that we could have ordered them. And then later the same waitress appeared with interesting plates of food for other (presumably local) guests. Oh well. And by the way, they have one toilet which you can only access with a key that has to be returned promptly. That's also annoying when there are four of you you need to freshen up and collect water to give to our two dogs.

New management, we had breakfast and I must say that there is a good variety of croissants, with even vegan options. Cappuccino not exceptional but still decent, what I didn't like is the juice diluted with water... if I pay for an orange juice I only want oranges 🍊👎🏼

Wide choice of brioches. They give water with the coffee

For millennials, an aperitif (15 euros each) that recalls times gone by. No gourmet or food served on mini-pallets. Lots of substance and the aperitif (with cocktail included) is served. Something to improve on the cocktails, but everything is forgiven with such a full stomach. Applause also for how the external space is set up, simple, but which manages to make you forget about the traffic not so far away.

Lovely cafe, great coffee and pastries at very reasonable prices.

Very nice, little cafe. Small, sunny terrace. Dogs welcome.

Very good empty brioches as well as the latte Also very nice to find some biscuits for Simba 🐕 who appreciated them 😜
