I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the incredible team at Sunnybrook who supported me throughout my surgical journey. A few days before my surgery, I had the opportunity to meet the team who assisted me in preparing for the procedure. They were incredibly kind, patient, and supportive. They took the time to guide me through the process, answer my questions, and make sure I felt informed and comfortable. Their care made a meaningful difference in easing my anxiety even before the surgery day arrived. On the day of my surgery, every nurse I met before entering the operating room treated me with exceptional kindness and patience. I was extremely anxious, but their calm and compassionate approach truly comforted me. The anesthesia team was outstanding. They asked their questions with care and gave me the time and space to ask mine. Their kindness and professionalism helped me feel safe and reassured. I especially appreciated the presence of a kind and professional Iranian team member, which made me feel even more at ease. My surgeon, Dr. Nir Lipsman, and the surgical team were absolutely amazing. They listened carefully to my physical concerns, showed great patience, and reassured me that everything was under control. After I woke up, Dr. Lipsman personally came to see me and assured me that the surgery had gone very well and that all necessary measures had been taken to ensure my safety during recovery. The nursing team was truly exceptional: • Yuna was incredibly kind and professional, paying attention to even the smallest details to ensure my comfort. • Olivia, despite her serious and professional appearance, has a genuinely warm and caring heart. • Tomy gave me a deep sense of calm — a peaceful, almost spiritual energy that was very comforting. • Ellie, with a gentle and angelic presence, performed my blood test so carefully that I barely felt any discomfort. • Kaela made sure I was comfortable at all times with great attention and kindness. I am also very thankful to Mai, Jingle, Dulce, and another lovely nurse with a black cap with white flowers and a beautiful smile. Although I arrived for surgery feeling very stressed, I left with a deep sense of gratitude and peace. Thank you all for turning a difficult experience into such a positive one…

The nursing 'care' my mother wasn't given on the medical unit was poor, & once she was made Palliative, the 'care' was abysmal. Having to wait 1 hour for pain medication or sedation, not being changed or turned until the end of a 12 hour shift, despite repeated family requests .. when her granddaughters visited, they helped change & turn her. The Dr's. were absolutely encouraging, supportive, & excellent, from Emergency to Medicine. Thankfully, upon transfer to K-Wing for Palliative Care 4 days later, mom & family were blessed with exceptional care & she passed away comfortably, peacefully 2 days later. World class hospital? Not if the nursing level of care on their Medicine unit is considered.

You truly mastered the positioning of those pillows every single time, and that level of care made such a difference. I would also like to thank Sophie at reception for always providing words of encouragement, which were truly appreciated during stressful moments.
