One of my favorite places in Venice, it has the best cicchetti I've ever had! Fair prices, a good wine selection, and super friendly staff (they even made me special vegetarian cicchetti!)

Everything we tried was truly excellent. Traditional cicchetti paired with slightly more elaborate options, but always balanced and successful. The only drawback is the large crowds and limited seating, but this is a common feature of practically all bacari in Venice.

January 2026 experience. Wait to enter the place could be over 20mins depending on the day but that's hardly a problem. Service is warm, despite the sheer people they serve, Matteo and staff stepped aside to welcome us and the Cicchetti are absolutely delicious. Some of the combinations have flavours wonderfully tied together and served on a crispy toast unlike the usual bread pieces. Matteo is a culinary rockstar, this place is a must to visit.
