A casual place with friendly, warm, and fast service. We stopped for an aperitif, which then turned into a full-blown lunch. We left enchanted by the flavors of Mantuan cuisine and satisfied with the excellent value for money. I recommend stopping by, even though we weren't offered the amaro.

I felt at home: - the place is quite small, but nice and clean - the staff is well-mannered, young, and approachable - the quality is very high, all products are KM0, and they also offer craft beers It's definitely worth 5 stars; I hope to come back here again

Delicious food in this small charming local enoteca. The 'small' starter of salami and cheese was more than enough for two. Followed by delicious pumpkin lasagne and beef ravioli. The house recommended wines by the glass were the best we have had in this trip. A truly great place for dinner.

Recentemente sono stata con amici alla Buca della Gabbia e ci siamo trovati benissimo. Accoglienza perfetta, piatti gustosi , taglieri di salumi ricchissimi di prodotti di alta qualità, primi gustosissimi della gastronomia mantovana alla quale sono stati abbinati vini all'altezza . Serata molto piacevole, che ripeteremo al più presto. Consigliatissimo!

La selezione dei vini è ampia e ben studiata consigliati con competenza dal titolare sempre gentile e preparato. I taglieri sono anvhe questi.un punto di forza ben presentati e con prodotti di qualità. Ci siamo trovati molto bene abbiamo apprezzato tutto. Torneremo sicuramente.

16/12/2025: It exceeded our expectations! We went over the weekend and had a really good time. Fresh, tasty fish, welcoming, friendly staff. I highly recommend it.
08/12/2025: Friendly and welcoming staff. The "Nostromo" calzone with fish filling is delicious. The tagliolini with squid ink is also delicious. For dessert, I recommend the "Belgian pudding," a combination of coffee, caramel, and cocoa.

01/11/2025: My wife and I happened to be in the historic center of Castiglione delle Stiviere on a gloomy Saturday in November. It was the usual time for looking for a place to grab a quick bite, certainly not a proper lunch. It felt like we were back in the COVID era; there wasn't a soul around, and all that was missing was a civil defense vehicle urging residents to stay indoors through a megaphone. The only open trattoria, unfortunately, required reservations, but the owner kindly directed us to a certain Mutty, further down the road, where we might find something to eat. Google listed the place with "books, exhibitions, cuisine." Wow! What a strange combination. Unconvinced, we arrived and went in. We were quite old when we entered... but by the time we left, we had undoubtedly aged significantly. Nothing to complain about the dishes offered; they are a triumph of vegetarian and vegan cuisine, elaborately prepared and elegantly garnished and served. Great music and a modern, original atmosphere. If we hadn't had more than a hundred kilometers to travel home, we could have stayed put ad libitum. Remember, however, that from Mutty you enter a particular state in which the curvature of spacetime undergoes a transformation according to the concept of general relativity. You could exit Mutty and find yourself face to face with Rodolfo Gonzaga in the Castiglione del Lago of 149...almost 1500, and then perhaps you too would want to go and stop Christopher Columbus so that a Donald Trump never becomes President...
21/09/2025: I was a bit pre-judged when I read the menu, but we actually ate very well! The location in the garden is very beautiful.
