14/03/2025: Bakery with attached bar. TOP place for quality, cleanliness, courtesy and friendliness. Super recommended. Go calmly. There are no bad surprises here. I am not the owner, nor a friend of the owners. Just a customer who discovered this place by accident.
03/03/2025: I go there for the first time, intrigued by the photos on their website, which shows shop windows with expanses of brioches, at least a dozen different formats if not more... ditto the pastries area...
The environment is modern, a beautiful café with a few internal tables arranged in a single row, suitable for 2 people per table, arranged along the front of the counter, and about ten tables outdoors in a "little garden" created next to the car park.
With great amazement, once inside I notice that the dozens of steel aisles which should contain the various brioches and pastries as per the photos on the web are empty, the assortment is based on a cardboard plateau placed on the aforementioned aisles, with a dozen pastries in total, 2 cream croissants, 2 pistachio croissants, 2 raspberry croissants, 2 puff pastries with walnuts and 3 empty wholemeal croissants with honey dough... let's say that from the photos published on the web to reality we are from the stars to the stables. On the photos on their site I count 12 variations of pasta... from 12 to 5... we are at the level of misleading advertising, either change the photos on the site or offer what you publish.
To the side of the pastry shop there are only a few trays of biscuits... in short, sad from the photos on their website to reality.
I have breakfast with a cream brioche, decent even if slightly dry (classic from a bakery and not a pastry shop) but nothing to complain about, in the dispensers on the tables and on the counter of various sugar, there is NO sweetener, I have to get up and ask for it at the counter and it is given to me.
The restaurant has 3 areas, a cafeteria, a bakery and a cold cuts and cheese shop.
I move to the bread area, being above all a bakery I expect a great assortment... instead the situation is copy and paste that of the cafeteria, there are many empty wooden shelves and many equally deserted bread baskets, situation from Saturday evening at 7pm where you have to take what is left, here the assortment is resolved with 6/7 types of bread in total, 3 of which with the same dough being ciabatta/large clog or braid made with the same dough, of the turtles 4 in total, a pair of slippers and 6/7 clogs, there is no trace of valances, rosettes, puffs, breads with particular doughs such as pumpkin or particular flours, rustic bread (such as Altamura) or in a loaf of bread, not to mention the total absence of delicacies such as sandwiches with olives, walnuts, speck, onion or similar, in short, very disappointed by a bakery which I was told had a name and an important assortment... further on, pizza in a tray for slices and 2 different types of stuffed focaccia, one olive and one cherry tomato that I bought and tried at home... decent, slightly abundant in salt on top but not very seasoned in general, in short, one of the many tasted that remain in the "not to be repeated" area or nothing special, I bought the ciabatta which I find quite good, even if unfortunately not very crunchy, but with the dough well alveolated internally and light, a sign of good leavening, in the cold cuts counter there are no there is nothing that catches my eye.
The impression is that of a bakery that has slowly lost much of its determination and enthusiasm and I can understand given that nowadays people buy "bread" at the supermarket (products of the modern food industry rich in additives and various rubbish, calling it bread is a sacrilege) unfortunately it often happens that we see bakeries in a state of semi-abandonment, what is certain is that those who enter them like me, after having seen the photos on their website and having been recommended by people who frequented them years ago (evidently many years ago) recommending it for the various shapes of bread... he is disconcerted, perhaps Monday is a day of lower attendance and for this reason I give 3 stars instead of 2 given the situation, to encourage them to do better, quality always pays and if you advertise like I came from a completely different area of Padua, looking for assortment and quality, others will also come and they will not be disappointed.
