Al Di La is the first restaurant I went to when I first moved to Brooklyn over 7 years ago, and it is every bit as great as it was then, and still one of my favorite spots.

This is exactly what I had in mind for dinner in NYC. Fantastic northern Italian cuisine in a very cozy atmosphere. I had the squash soup and whole sea bream. Everything was delicious and fresh. Had a lovely wine too.

Just came from a great and delicious dinner. The Ragu, ravioli omg so delicious such great flavor. The only thing we didn’t like - our server was like please hurry up and order our kitchen is closing. So we felt rushed the entire time. Our reservation was at 9 and we got there right at 9. And we sit and then 5 minutes later she tells us this.
That was the only disappointing thing about the meal. Other than that food was great!

Came here for the first time for an anniversary dinner. Overall we had a really nice time however with it being a somewhat small restaurant and it being busy we did sometimes have difficulty hearing each other talk. The food was very well made. Great quality pasta. My only negative comment about the food is that I wish the bread that came with the mussels were on the side, not soaking in the juices.

The food was AMAZING! I had mussels and tagliatelle, my wife had tortelli and a salad to start and it was all fantastic.
Terrible service. Our server seemed to have chalked us up to the table he was going to sacrifice so he could pay attention to every other table. He delivered our food to the wrong table and didn’t realize until about 10 minutes later. He was apologetic but generally pretty poor at serving.

The food was excellent. I was walking down 5th Ave in Brooklyn when I noticed the name of the restaurant, the same name as an old Jerry Vale song. I stopped to read the menu on the window. I then noticed an old Frank Bruni NYT review. It was a glowing review. I suggested it to my wife and we went. One note: they only accept reservations on Resy. The restaurant was small and filled with patrons, even on a Wednesday evening.

Food was good their specials are short. The menu isn't too friendly I wanted to get like 4 course meal so I wanted to start with a Pasta dish I don't like to get big portions especially pasta then a salad and then a main course followed with a desert. But I was told they don't make half portion pastas so I was forced to order a full portion the dishes are executed perfectly atmosphere was cold. Menu is the same through out the year. I would like to see the menu change for a change.i cannot say anything bad but the place Steak gets to dry too quickly one item that was drenched in balsamic glaze.

For sure the best Italian restaurant in Brooklyn. Truly Italian, so that is a relief. As, Italian-Americans murdered the Italian cuisine, finding restaurants that make authentic Italian food is always nice. More than that, this place excels. The waitress on the second dining room was a little unfriendly, but I moved to the main room and the other waitress was more friendly, although not too much. Therefore, service was only ok (not matching the quality of food, however).

As a person of Italian descent I was excited about this place since it has good reviews. Typically, I’d usually rather cook Italian at home given that it’s my forte. The kale salad had 2 croutons and 5 pieces of Parmesan. The squid ink pasta was cooked well and nicely spiced but I think they could’ve driven everything home a bit more. Not a bad meal but not as great as I was hoping it would be!
