The photos show the dish before and after... what can I say... I'm from Genoa and I've never eaten a better pesto than this... that says it all.

A wonderful Italian al dente pasta experience! We waited for a table, but we didn't regret it because the spaghetti was really well prepared. Not to mention the tiramisu we enjoyed for dessert with homemade mascarpone.

A restaurant in the center of Salerno, easy to get to and offering a wide selection of classic first courses, all truly well-prepared and flavorful. Generous portions (the photos show half portions, carefully divided between two dishes). Fast service, reservations are available... and most importantly, they're open 24/7 so you can enjoy these dishes at any time. Absolutely reasonable prices.

Excellent spaghetti! We were not disappointed. Arrive early or make a reservation, even at lunchtime it fills up very quickly.

Tuvimos la suerte de conseguir una mesa de inmediato en Al Dente la noche que llegamos a Salerno y era tan delicioso que hicimos reservas para nuestra última noche. El Cacio e Pepe fue el mejor que he probado, y el Sorrento - Style risotto hecho con espagueti fue tan bueno que mi hija lo pidió en ambas ocasiones. Los vinos tintos, blancos y rosados de la casa eran todos buenos también. También disfrutamos viendo a los chefs. Recomendamos encarecidamente una comida en Al Dente cuando esté en Salerno, pero haga una reserva!

Il nostro viaggio a Salerno è iniziato con una cena in questo piccolo locale vicino alla stazione e al nostro b&b. Esperienza totalmente positiva: il ragazzo che ci ha seguito ha saputo interpretare i nostri gusti e ci ha proposto bruschette e spaghetti uno più buono dell'altro. Consiglio gli spaghetti risottati alla sorrentina, davvero ottimi. I tempi di attesa sono stati adeguati , il locale è sempre molto affollato quindi è preferibile prenotare. Ci torneremo sicuramente!

02/08/2025: I'm sorry, but the prices are too high for what they offer. The food is good, but for what we paid, I expected more. I can't accept any flaws in a dish that cost 45 euros, and when we checked the receipt, we realized that the octopus and cuttlefish salad we ordered, which never arrived due to forgetfulness, was still charged the same.
02/08/2025: I found this restaurant thanks to recommendations from celiacs vacationing in the area. I enjoyed spaghetti with clams (spectacular and delicious clams, but the gluten-free pasta was a bit sticky) and a very good fried fish platter. My husband, on the other hand, had a plate of fried fish and tuna ziti pasta, which he enjoyed. To finish, the roasted sea bream with an oil and lemon sauce was simple and delicious. Excellent fish quality, slightly high prices (I've attached the menu in the photos), and a 7.5 rating for gluten-free cuisine. Approved, I'd return.

10/07/2025: I got a very mixed experience from this place on two visits of mine… after the first one I was not happy at all but the second one made up that’s why 4 stars.. for the dinner that we did as family at the place, biggest issue was the service, either they are understaffed or whatever but no one came to keep the basics on table, no breads and the food took long time, after that once we were mid way I tried to order another dish but the server never came, after calling three times, when they said they will come and then didn’t, I gave up and asked for cheque and that is when I asked about bread they said they forgot!! So got me bread AFTER the meal was done :-( also the food was very average. We still went there for the second time but this time I did a take away lunch and the chef was very kind and prepared the vegetarian pizza and pasta for us and nicely wrapped and gave it to us. Both the pizza and pesto pasta were very nice and specially the gesture of the chef.. that’s is why I bumped the rating from 3 to 4 here.
10/07/2025: They are very nice!!! The pizza and Limoncello are delicious.
