Al Castello In Roccastrada

The atmosphere is welcoming and charming. Its proximity to the castle is ideal for a stroll. The first courses were excellent, as was the meat. The one I had, Angus ribs, was excessively fatty (like 1/4 meat, 3/4 fat). They say the fish is very good. I'll try it next time.

We ate very well and were looked after with care and courtesy, a place to discover.

What a treat! From the magnificent view from the outdoor terrace to the friendly welcome and the excellent 🍽️ menu, everything at "Al Castello" is just right. 👍🏾 We spontaneously arrived before the regular opening (the opening hours were communicated differently on Google), but weren't turned away. Instead, we were seated on the outdoor terrace at our express request. For most of the guests who arrived later, the evening was apparently already too chilly (they all stayed inside), but we really enjoyed the 18-20 degrees Celsius in the middle of October. The welcome nuts and chips were a bit untypical for Maremma, but nice nonetheless. Although we're big 🍕 pizza fans, we opted for other dishes to get a taste of the local cuisine—and we weren't disappointed! 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳 The 🫜beetroot carpaccio with creamy stracciatella was a poem, the tortellini with ricotta, butter, and sage 🌿 were cooked to perfection and very well seasoned. The cod dumplings also tantalized all the taste buds. The local 🍷red wine was undoubtedly worth the sin, and the dessert 🥮 brought the perfect evening to a wonderful close. Even our three, not-so-small dogs were no problem. 🙏🏼 Thank you, dear "Al Castello" team, for the culinary delight and the friendly exchange in three languages. 🇮🇹 🇬🇧 🇩🇪

Crazy tasty pizzas and a cozy terrace

I really enjoyed the panoramic terrace and the excellent barbecue. They also serve typical Tuscan pasta dishes and pizzas. Attentive and friendly staff. Affordable prices.

We can strongly recommend this restaurant. Everyone was very friendly and supportive even though we don't speak Italian. We were able to enjoy some locally brewed beer and had some fantastic, well-seasoned pasta. The view from the terrace is beautiful. We would always come back for dinner.
