What can I say...everything was excellent, from the welcoming atmosphere of a typical tavern, to the very friendly and welcoming hostess. And what about the dishes? Delicious, plentiful, and...10/10. Well done, guys, you're bringing true VENETIAN cuisine to the forefront!!

Away from the touristy areas, a very pleasant and quiet little place. A jovial and super friendly “landlady”. I recommend it!!!

A quiet little spot in the heart of lively Venice, just a step away from the busy tourist crowds yet wonderfully peaceful. We came here knowing about this place in advance and were delighted to try traditional Venetian cicchetti, freshly fried seafood, and local wine. The atmosphere is warm and homey, with a handwritten menu in Italian that adds so much charm and authenticity. We were welcomed by a very kind and friendly staff member who served us quickly and helped us choose dishes, even though we weren’t familiar with many of the names. It felt genuinely local and unpretentious — no plastic signs or glossy picture menus, just real Venetian hospitality and flavors. A hundred percent recommended if you want to experience the true spirit of Venice.

The owner is super friendly and very accommodating. A very quiet and cozy atmosphere, away from the tourist rush of Venice. The food was excellent and the value for money was right. A family-friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended. The menu was scribbled on a placemat. Very original. We'll go back when we're there!

Wonderful food and dining experience

Exceptional food, service and ambiance!! I was fortunate to stumble across this restaurant when I was doing some last minute shopping during my last evening in Venice. I was not disappointed!!! It is nestled in a quiet area of Venice overlooking a canal. The aromas and sounds from the kitchen made me feel like I was in someone's home instead of a restaurant. Their specialty "Uvetta" was quite the treat after a delicious meal of linguine with clams, sea bream and panna cotta paired with their house red wine. Expect to spend at least 1.5 to 2 hours there which is exactly what I needed to soak it all in before I had to say arrivederce to Venice.

This restaurant was recommended by the hotel and we were not disappointed. We had starter of mixed fish dishes dela casa followed by a pasta dish with mixed shellfish. It was the best pasta dish I have ever eaten in Italy. We will be back for more tomorrow. I read other reviews of people complaining about unfriendly service and the lady was extremely friendly and helpful. I can imagine that she like many other Italian ladies won't put up with any nonsense. If you come in with an attitude then you will get back more than you bargained for. We loved this restaurant. As a edit to the review above, we came back the next day for both lunch and dinner. For lunch we had a selection of Cicchetti which is a Venetian staple and similar to Spanish Tapas. This was very good and we left looking forward to dinner. We came back in the evening and unfortunately we had quite a different experience to the previous visits. There was another lady serving and while she could speak perfectly good English ( I heard her speak English with other guests) she chose not to with us. She was perfectly friendly, she just didn't seem to want to speak English to these particular tourists. The previous lady had explained about the menu when we had asked, which was hand written in Italian. But as we had not had a bad meal we just randomly chose 2 starters and 2 main courses from the menu. I got prawns which were very nice but my wife was served a plate with 3 large servings of fish spread and a little bread, which was made from fish and a lot of fat. It wasn't bad but it was not exacly good. The main course arrived and I received 3 small pieces of white fish with a white sauce mixed with what looked like mashed string beans. This was quite literally the most boring tasteless fish I have ever eaten. There was no salt available and it was utterly bland. Bland tasteless fish smothered in a tasteless white paste. My wife received a large plate of assorted fish, calamari and vegetables all battered and deep fried. Again this was not terrible, just very boring and very fatty. There was no sauce of any kind provided to dip the fish in, like you would get in Spain, France, Portugal or even other parts of Italy. We also had a desert which was completely unremarkable and a single glass of white wine each. The bill came to €127. So to cut a long story short, the quality of your experience at this restaurant would seem to depend on what you order, who's serving and pure blind luck. It went from one of the best meals I have ever eaten in Italy to the very worst in the space of a day.
